Freeman consistently outperforms Henderson but McVay keeps coming back to the RB with no power. Look at Rivers on McVay's depth chart in front of Freeman??
Watch when they draft a RB next year he will be another midget with average speed. Sorry but I agree with Akers that he is the better RB over Williams. Akers is faster with break away speed and runs with power. Williams is a good #2 but that's all he is.

Henderson gets 3 yards, Freeman runs for 6. Henderson gets 7 yards Freeman gets the first down. But McVay clearly favors Henderson over Freeman.

It comes back to what I've been saying for years. Goff wasn't his QB so he sabotaged his tenure in LA. When Goff showed he could get them to a SB what did McVay do? He immediately dismantled the OL the very next year and made Goff play behind scrubs. Goff throws INTs and McVay is pissed off. Stafford throws 3 pick 6's this season and crickets from McVay. McVay will only support his guys. Sean's favoritism is my biggest criticism of him. He's a brilliant coach but favoritism is his weak point.

It's why he doesn't see a problem with Raheem playing his boy DK who can't tackle, can't cover gives up TDs and game changing penalties every game, but starts? So far McVay is losing this season primarily because he simply won't adjust.

This post is a lot funnier if you read it with Alex Jones' voice.

I agree McVay plays favorites and that the treatment of Goff vs. Stafford is a good example. I disagree about Akers. He had plenty of chances and look bad with them. I don't know how anyone can be upset at the Williams pick at that draft position. Hendo vs. Freeman is pretty much a wash IMO. When you're down by many points like the Rams were today, I get the logic to playing whoever has a better chance at using breakaway speed for a big play.

Agree with what you've said with regards to Henderson Vs. Freeman, but since he got hurt Akers has been genuinely the worst running back in the league.

McVay's inability to judge the RB position is his greatest weakness. It isn't the coaches under him, it is McVay. He has had 3 different RB coaches and either all of them have been content to trot a guy out there who consistently wilts under the pressures of the job, OR the problem is that Henderson meets all McVay's conceptions of what a RB looks like, which is a passcatchy sumbish who can't tote the rock for shit.

I'm beyond frustrated by that shit because the WCO requires a good RB threat. And what is most frustrating is that of all the coaches that are in that WCO tree the best of them all in adjusting to not having a RB is McVay. He proved that winning the Super Bowl without shit in the backfield. But it was a wing and a prayer and unlikely to happen again.

Rams must solve RB. They have to. If Snead doesn't step the fuck up and make it happen as the guy who is supposed to be shaping the roster, then fire his ass and go get a GM with some fucking balls to tell McVay and his coaches that they're going to go get a RB for them vice listening to their inputs. Because that my friends is where we're at right now with that position.

He does the same thing with OL even with the different coaches. He does the same thing at TE as well.

We are coming out of a good roster and we spent those draft picks on free agents instead of young players. We all get that it led to a Super Bowl win. But what we're dealing with now is a serious lack of quality day 1 and day 2 players on the roster. It will take a little time to rebuild that part of the roster.

I saw nothing wrong with how our running backs played.. not sure what game some of you were watching.

Kendricks needs to go work as a fitness instructor somewhere, however.

Henderson did well when he had some semblance of a hole.. he often had nowhwere to go.

freeman avg nearly 5 years a carry.

Without a doubt. What is interesting too with TE is that he actually has 3 of them on the field in Kupp, Nacua, and Higbee. His "type" of offensive weapon is the undersized TE who can roast LBs and Safeties and body Corners. The kid he had eating up the league in Washington was precisely the same type of weapon. He is infatuated with speedy players and adding speed, but the guys who work best for him are the ones who are smart enough to take nuance in coaching, work hard under his high expectations, and who have that size range to be a problem when schemed open.

On a sidenote I don't think Kupp is fully back from that injury, while I'm thinking about all this. He's an elite receiver in any offense IMO, but again McVay has a type with his passcatching weapons and the Rams have not been able to hit on the bigger guys at TE for the most part.

And lest someone think that I think McVay is shite, the guy is an elite coach in spite of all these gripes IMO. It just frustrates the fuck out of me to continually see failure at the same positions.

In this draft I guarantee you he's not going to want to draft a LT for example. He's gonna want weapons. This is why we may need a new GM. I respect Snead but he's not elite in the way McVay is elite and the GM should be able to cover his coach's weaknesses not feed them with the same BS year after year. And this is even with the understanding that we've drafted in poor spots for years and as you say it's gonna take time to rebuild.

Agreed about Kupp, this team isn't going anywhere if Stafford is hurt so sit him.

Also agree I'd like McVay to step back a bit from player draft selection let Snead do it since I doubt the Rams will replace him.

My biggest wish though is McVay gives up play calling. Please let LaFleur do it!

Its about the O line, the O LINE, THE OFFENSIVE LINE fellas.
With a dominate O line we are not talking about this.
Blast holes any RB can get through.

Spend 1st and 2nd round picks on humans that are 6' 7" 330lbs with quick feet.
Then your middle round RBs and WRs can do the job.
