When I was younger I would climb trees, rooftops, gaze over balconies, hang Christmas lights off the roof like a monkey...

Now? Holy geez I am afraid of heights. Not in a weird paralyzingly way, thankfully... I suffer no problem looking out the window of a tall building... but, put me in a place where I could see myself falling and I get pretty scared... like a tall Ferris wheel, repairing a shingle on the roof, etc.

Strangely, I've gone skydiving 2x and it was so high... I wasn't scared.

But yeah, a fear of heights for me.

Fireflies and Lawyers who think they are artists

There is nothing freakier at first than being outside at night then seeing a firefly off in the distance - i always think at first it's a guy smoking a cigarette in the dark and i instantly think of the bad guy from Romancing the Stone. Not until i look closer and see the patterns of flight does it dawn on me

Lawyers are a great service to society, but ones that fancy themselves the next Speilberg - run for cover

Flying and sharks.
Oddly, going to Australia next March with Anne shark diving in the agenda.

Don't ever watch Sharknado..flying sharks might put you over the edge

Well, hopefully not JUST like that.
It will be fine though. I will just wear a shirt that says "I am not a seal".
Of course, I can also see the headline, "Idiot wearing a "I am not a seal" shirt eaten by great white shark"
Be sure on your way to swimming with the Sharks that you wear your seatbelt.

Bees, wasps, and hornets. I was afraid of them before a nest of yellow jackets are through the ceiling of our apartment and took over the place. After that... Pure terror.

I don't like to fail, it doesn't stop me from trying, but it stops me from giving up, and sometimes stopping is better.

Certain heights. I've overcame most of them, but I still can't go on rollercoasters and I get nervous sweats when watching people free climb cliffs.

Open ocean. I've heard plenty of horror stories of people being stranded out in the open ocean. Not knowing if you'll ever see land or get saved, and not knowing what lurks beneath.

Wait a minute here... you can't leave us hanging on that. That traumatic experience must be shared!!! PLEASE.

Side note... I'm betting that my roasted brussels with garlic, bacon, walnuts, and a balsamic honey reduction would completely cure this fear of yours.

But I gotta hear this story first.
