The Weddle signing follows a pattern, i.e. signing a vet FA with lots of success for each position group. Whit, Sully OL, Talib, Peters, secondary, Anderson RB, Cooks, Woods, WR. Suh DL.

Makes me think they go get a vet LB and TE, and maybe a QB to back up GOFF. That would follow the pattern, and a damned smart one at that.

The second part of that pattern is to draft those same positions.

They get the free agents for the immediate needs and they draft for depth and the future.
