For me it has to be William Hayes. Dude would argue against the dinosaurs being real, but then tell you how much he believed in mermaids....

Who is yours and why?

William Hayes is an all-around good man. I still remember Hayes and Chris Long going undercover as homeless people, and that really touched me, considering that I had been kicked out of places and basically been rendered homeless. And the fact that he went back to help? Absolutely touching.

I remember Deacon Jones on local tv up here giving advice to a high school kid being recruited by some colleges. He told the kid to heavily wrap his forearm in tape and then smear blood on it to psych the guy opposite him on the line. The kid looked at him like he was crazy. I thought that was a little weird.

Sammy Watkins. He believes he is an inter terrestrial being.

Part lizard person as well, right?

Yeah, Watkins was all sorts of weird. Was money in the redzone, though.

What a wuss! ~ Kyle Turley
Yeah, Turley was terribly messed up too.

Here's a quote from him:

"Depression and anxiety and light sensitivity got worse, and suicidal and homicidal tendencies became a part of my daily living, in that I couldn't be around a knife in my kitchen without having an urge to stab someone, including my wife and kids," Turley said. "That was highly disturbing to me."

That’s extremely sad, not weird.

Richie Incognito. Pretty messed up.
Nobody truly understood the real Richie.

Weird as in quirky? Rosey Grier and his knitting? Loved the man but that was always funny to me.

I gotta go with Jack (Hacksaw) Reynolds. He got his nickname when after a loss at his alma mater he sawed his jeep in half with a hacksaw.
Just ain't much weirder than that...

I have always wondered how true that story is. I am a millwright, certified welder, fabricator mechanic. It would take many blades and other tools to get it done. You are not getting it done with a hacksaw alone. They are not deep enough to cut through all the parts on a vehicle.
This weird stuff, there is good weird and bad weird.
I always liked Hayes, a good weird. He was not much of a pass rusher but running backs seemed to stop when he contacted them. No more forward movement.
