DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Robert Quinn / DE / St. Louis Rams
The Rams’ swarming pass rush had little trouble breaking through the Cardinals’ offensive line as St. Louis dealt Arizona its first loss of the season on Thursday night. Cardinals QB Kevin Kolb was sacked nine times in the game — the most sacks by a Rams defense since Sept. 20, 1998 — and Quinn accounted for three of them in the first multi-sack game of his career. Quinn, a first-round pick in 2011, knocked the ball loose from Kolb on his last sack of the game, and it was recovered by the Rams, sealing the team’s third victory. Quinn had three other tackles in the game and a pass breakup. “We just went out there and played hard,” Quinn said. “It was a short week for us. I guess that didn’t matter. We just really tried to stay focused. Coaches put a great game plan together, and as players we just went out there and executed.”
