Cracks me up all these "experts" doubting the ability of Jackson being replaced. I understand it, he was Mr. Reliable, but, he was not a big play running back. He earned his 4 yard average. He was not super quick through the hole and would try to bounce plays too much. For much of the year the Rams O line was banged up and did not run block very well.
With a better line and more speed I dont see why Rams cant replace Jacksons productivity. While Jackson had become a "war of attrition" running back and was tough and effective I think he was a little over rated as a receiver. This is where I think the biggest benefit of getting faster could be. Either Richardson or Pead catching the ball with some open field in front of them is much scarier than Jackson.
Please dont misread me.....I am not bagging on Jackson. HOF er and a class guy.
