Akers and Henderson is not the answer. We need someone who can consistently keep drives going, especially when we need to run the clock down. Can't rely on Stafford to sling the rock around to get first downs. If we get a running back that can help sustain drives, no one can stop us.

Sony made a big difference for us last year…would be nice if Akers could step up to that level fir us this year. Our running game looks very vanilla and unimaginative…weird, considering Sean’s strength is creative offense. Having multiple OL out due to injury isn’t helping continuity. I’m confident the leadership of the team will get this team right.

Hopefully Kyren Williams returns before we suffer another significant RB injury, but I can easily see a trade prior to the deadline for a RB and/or an OLB. If we get Van Jefferson back by week 3 or 4, and he performs well, he also looks like trade bait while we wait on OBj's return. jmo.

Well, I like our running backs BUT SB Bengals showed that stopping the Rams running game gave them a chance. Buffalo and Atlanta loaded up the fronts to stop the run. Akers and Henderson are not power running backs like Sony is. Offense showed some new wrinkles today with Skowronek in the backfield and he's showing his versatility. Stafford and McVay just needs more time to figure it out then the running game will reappear. (I hope)

Which was my point the last two years in which some are finally starting to wake up to the reality.

We need a premier feature back to bring back the versatility of McVays offense, pretty soon we are going to get stonewalled again like the Bears did to us in 2018 that created the blueprint to stop McVay before he stubbornly changed things up to start rolling again.

We need a premier RB and some OL help.

HBs seemed fine to me today. If Kareem Hunt hit the market, I'd be interested. Otherwise, I'm not too concerned.

The last 1000 yard rusher for the Rams was Gurley in 2018. I say they need one also.

For me they need a commitment to run more than they need a running back. This is year 6 of McVay so we know what we get now. I stopped yelling "RUN THE FUCKING BALL SEAN" at the TV about 3 years ago because it's fruitless.

I don't think a "better" RB has a whole lot more success than the guys we have in now who do NOT get enough touches IMO.

Given the injury history of our rbs, I agree we need another for insurance purposes. But I think Akers and Hendo, when healthy, offer a good balance. I think the main problem is our play calling. It hasn't been as creative as in the past. It feels like ever since McVay got Stafford, he doesn't need to create as sophisticated of plays bc he can rely on Matt's knowledge to adjust during each play. Only problem is, the oline is not as strong as it was most years with Goff.

I think Hendo and Akers are fine. Our run blocking, prior to this game, has left something to be desired and honestly the play calling could be better, too. I noticed we ran to the outside a lot more this game which definitely benefits our smaller offensive line and quick running backs.

Watching Aaron Jones tear it up for Green Bay, sure did make me wish we had that kind of ground attack.

I think we need to upgrade the OL and then the running game would be fine.
I concur here, also I felt Darrell Henderson had a very strong game, plenty of juice more then Akers. Plus Henderson did a nice job in pass protection. Problem is, they went away from the run IMHO. Durability only concern for Henderson, but he's been the best back so far, not even close.

1) Akers looked timid, hit the holes slowly and without power—IMO.
2) the chemistry of Noteboom and Edwards improved.
3) the chemistry on the right side was better with the new lineup.
4) the playcalling became conservative and predictable the tighter the game became.

It may just be me but it sure looks like Akers doesn't have much burst/acceleration out of a dead stop like he used to... or he's just being too hesitant. I'm hoping it's the hesitant part and it'll fix itself. But that's a common issue for people with achilles injuries. I don't remember the specific play(s) but there were a couple times yesterday where he got the ball and I thought he had some room and it seemed like he was in slow mo compared to defense coming at him.

Henderson I feel is a good one cut and run RB and have no problem with him but his durability is always the concern. It would be nice to have a stud again back there but I'd settle for some consistency at this point.

I'm also growing tired of the diminutive RB. I understand it's part of the scheme, however, Rams just added another RB to the practice squad in Ron Rivers and he's smaller then the rest. I would like someone bigger that can utilize their power & speed, but again that's just me.

Henderson has looked good and I would love to give him more looks with the hope that durability does not rear it's ugly head again.

Folks need to relax, jeesh...
Akers will be fine, dude missed an entire season
Teams dont win obvious run situations because of the RB, they win those because of the o-line
Loved the look of Skow in the backfield, maybe a 2 back situation isnt far off

I thought Hendo looked OK yesterday. Cam? not sure what's going on there. On a side note, I could swear I remember back during McVay's hiring process the knocks on him from Washington was his running game and red zone offense. Remember, he walked in here to a very stout Gurley. Still a bit of a head scratcher knowing Sean has learned so much in the last 5 years.
