U.S. "Candy Bomber" Gail Halvorsen Dead at 101.

Gail Halvorsen, known as the "Candy Bomber" for dropping off candy to East Berlin via airplane, has passed at 101 years of age. He lived a fantastic life, and he basically dropped off candy and chocolate for kids in East Berlin - no matter the weather. What a man.

Interesting - my mom was born in Berlin and lived in East Berlin until she and her family defected in 1953. Wonder if she ever had any of this candy. Thanks for posting!
