He's 5' 8" that's why.Hard to believe that Tomlinson was still on the Board in the 6th round. He looks much better than that and I think we're going to be real happy with this young man!!

Yeah, I got that. But he played 4 years at a major college and showed he can compete at a high level. He's actually about same size as Decoby Durant so there's that. He's 5' 8" that's why.
Agreed. I am optimistic for sure.I know I'm getting ahead of myself but this draft might turnout to be Snead's best one yet
5'10"How tall was Jack Rabbit?
He and Durant are gonna be really good corners in this league. I don’t care that they’re short; in coverage, they’re elite.5'10"
But really the height doesn't bother me with Tomlinson because of how damn sticky he is to receivers. Plus his long arms and athleticism will make up for some of that. Sure he'll get beat by a jump ball here and there but he's always going to be stuck to his man and most QBs are too scared (or not good enough with ball placement) to throw to someone who is actually covered whether they are short or not. Plus, I love his attitude.
Yep. Height is over rated kind of like 40 time, especially being a UFC/Boxing fan you see someone 2-3 inches shorter but the shorter guy has a longer reach by 2-4 inches. I'd say wing span is very important for WR's and DB's coupled with instinct, ball skills, and broad jump. Almost every clip I see he has his head turned around and he has some dog in him that'll make up for a lot of short comings.Yeah height is not everything. It's the same conversation at any position with height, though, where there's a minimum range that requires guys to have something to them to overcome it and become outliers. Also with corner if you are small as a room that will be felt over 17 games, specifically against certain teams who have good size and physicality with their passing game weapons.
So the Rams corners, particularly the top two who IMO are Durant and Tomlinson, bring strong coverage instincts and ball awareness but their weakness is their size. This means certain teams will test that. Like SF for example with underneath passes to guys like Deeblow who are very challenging to tackle or Seattle with a monster like Metcalf who will dwarf them. Of course those teams specifically aren't idealized at QB, which weighs in our favor. But it is a real concern even though I absolutely love those two young corners.
We do have Rochell bringing some size though, as well as Witherspoon. Neither are particularly great but if one of them can win a spot it will help on the size front. Also Kendrick has decent size, though mentally he's checked out at times. So not like we're tiny out there but clearly we are undersized at corner given that our top two guys are on the small side. Though I will say Tomlinson in particular is pretty physical so he might be just fine even as a rook. Durant will get picked on a bit on the quick throws time to time if you have a guy like Deeblow, but as long as he tackles at a good enough level he'll be fine too.
I feel like Durant has the coverage ability to be one of the better pure cover guys in this league. Top third certainly and a Dre Bly type who is a threat to make plays for you on the ball. Tomlinson is a bit of a Leroy Irvin to my eye, which is to say small but scrappy and he's gonna win a lot of matchups. But yes they are on the small side so we'll see how it goes.
He’s been growing on me like the cordyceps zombie virus from The Last of Us, ever since we took him.Yep. He's definitely growing on me.
