I don’t agree with trading him yet, if we could even find a partner with his stock so low.

Regardless, trading him to the Dolphins just seems sort of fucked up. Gurley deserves better than that.
They did beat the Cheaters to keep them from getting a bye. Fitzs magic can find him out of the backfield better than Goff by extending plays. He is also from that region.
I’m nit trying to bash Todd Gurley, just think it might be time to move on.

Lea Snead says it is not a bad contract. Gurley is a competitor .He did show a little something something at the end of the season. If he limits himself & does what he needs to do to stay healthy, it could go a long way.
What CJ Anderson did helping The Rams to get to the Super Bowl is what gets
thinking The Rams can do without him.
Freeing up cap space 2021,2022,2023 ??

Then again I am far from a cap expert.

How is it a salary dump? What’s the net salary cap affect of Gurley getting traded? There have been countless discussions on this topic for a year now. Presenting the article and later the tweet is pushing the article and evidence it’s credible when it’s a fan based opinion blog post.

far enough , but it is the offseason, weather it was discussed over the year means nothing to me now. We did not know what Gurleys health was. He did show he could handle a good load of reps when called upon.
Now other teams have time & game film to decide if that is a direction they would go ?? I’m sure trading Todd Gurley is not a thing The Rams front office wouldn’t look at.
The article only goes to what I think The Rams should try to do. Weather it happens or not is another story ??

Did you see The Rams trading Peters mid/season ??
What about Talib ?? Wasn’t it to Miami ?

What about Ogletree fresh off a new contract ??

Then you have Robert Quinn ???

It’s the off season & moves are going to be made fairly soon. Snead before a draft throws all kinds of things off the wall just to see if anything will stick.

A team with a crazy amount a cap who is willing to absorb his money for an additional pick. The browns did it with Brock Oswieler. For the record I think he can still be a fine running back with a good offensive line. Even if he isn't the old Gurley anymore
Why not fix the offensive line instead of trading away a starting RB who could be "fine" with good blocking?

Nobody will trade for Gurley. We are stuck with him, for better or for worse. And I hesitate to use the word "stuck" because I thought Gurley looked good last year when he was actually given the carries and not getting hit in the backfield. If we can run block competently next season, I anticipate a major bounce back year from TGIII.

yes trading him now would save cap in 2021,2022 and 2023 but it would cost us about 7 mil in dead cap space this year. why not wait till next year when we could trade him without it costing us as much plus this year the cap is really tight. also he may have great comeback year and we won't want to trade him.

Lossing Saffold was a
Mistake from what we saw this season.

Then again when Tannehill had to go back & pass Saffold wasn’t Quite as good. Tannehill and it up taking a beating from
KC !!!

This was for the AFC championship game. Unless Saffold Can block for the right side of the line to he did a hell of a job as per memory and PFF rating.

When will this end?

He still scored 14 freakin' TDs this year. He has a nose for the goal line. I didn't see anything that suggests that he doesn't have plenty left in the tank.

I'll say it again.... until we plug the hole at C, our offense is going to look bad rushing AND passing. So many run plays got blown up through the middle. TFL's all around.
I will say, TGII doesn't look as fast going around the ends, and he doesn't seem to cut through gaps in stretch plays. In open field, he isn't as elusive. I really do think he was nursing his knee this year.
Either way, we won't know what we have with him until LB's aren't walking the C back into his lap every play.

For this coming season they are simply in the position to run him and run him into the ground if they have to.

They have two solid back ups, and could add another this year.

Then if he breaks down you release him next offseason and save $5M off his cap hit. Sure, you eat some dead money, but his cap hit lessons.

So not sure why anyone would talk of dumping him this year barring some stupid trade that a cap rich team offers in exchange for a name player. Unfortunately teams don't do those types of trades anymore. They are too smart to do so.

So it is what it is... Run him and see how he responds. Mix in Henderson/Brown etc, but no reason to "save" Gurley this yr.

Just let him run and see what happens.

Save you fantasy football hack garbage. The Rams can not get much for Gurley because of injury history and his contract. The best thing for the Rams is to get a good O line in front of him.
Its ALL ABOUT THE O LINE !!! Football 101.
He has been a fantastic Ram and teammate. Could not ask for more. Rams have good reasons to be loyal at this point. Now if he proves he can not make it with a good O line that is another thing.
He does not deserve to be traded at this point.

When Gurley has a huge bounce back season in 2020, I think a lot of these "hot takes" aren't gonna age well.

Only way they trade Todd is if he was a problem behind the scenes. Because otherwise the cost is too great and the benefit too small. And it's unlikely he was a problem in the locker room as he's always been a good team and locker room guy.

But you know I do think there's going to be a "surprise" trade this offseason. Might include a good player who we otherwise wouldn't want to lose but for cap purposes and knowing we won't be able to sign him he's trade bait.

well I hope the best for TG111. Will see how things go. Not writing him off, just think it is worth considering.

Goff and Gurley are the least of the Rams worries . The overrated D that got pummeled and embarrassed in big games is my biggest concern. We all know the Oline needs upgraded

Which trading Gurley will not provide. The cap hit from trading him would be $7.4 million additional in 2020, plus paying somebody else for that roster spot. And even last season he was valuable, just not as valuable as before.
I'm not sure that is correct. Per Over the Cap, Gurley's CAP HIT for 2020 is $17,250,000.
If he was to be traded before June 1st, the Rams would absorb $12,600,000 against the 2020 CAP and have a NET savings of $4,600,000.
Now, if we was CUT, there would be an additional 7.4 mil as you say.

Rams need to develop an effective RB1B, RB2 to Gurleys RB1A (see SF with Coleman, Mosstert, Breida). Fix the damn run blocking and I believe we have the RBs. Let’s not have the same deficiency in the 2019 season.

So a fan post from turf show times is posted as evidence of a rumor we are trying to trade Gurley and to back it up a tweet from the same fan site is posted? Might as well say any of our fan mocks here are fact and they’re what the Rams are doing for their offseason and we have the evidence!
Well, duh. ~ @jrry32

I don’t see any benefit to trading Gurley. I’d rather focus on fixing his running lanes.

But, agree with the premise we will be surprised by something. I fully expect that.
