We complete what can be considered the Offensive side of the ball in our Best series, (yeah, I've got a mouse in my pocket) with the Kicker position.

In doing my research I discovered a few things:
  • Kickers used to really suck
  • The Rams have experienced a Feast or Famine situation at kicker.
  • I have more respect today for Greg Zuerlein.
  • Did I mention that kickers used to really suck?
Anyway, I was able to compile 2 lists for this position. One for the best ten kickers (or from best to least suck value). The other list is interesting- guys that kicked for a time with the Rams but are better known for kicking for other teams. Some of them even Hall of Fame level success elsewhere. Here we go:

The Top Ten Rams KICKERS Of All Time:

  1. Jeff Wilkins. '97-'07. No brainier. (Even though he once hit on my wife-before we met.) funny story for another time. OT
  2. Josh Brown. '08-'11. We should still have this guy.
  3. Greg "the leg" Zuerlein. '12-'15. Yes he has missed big kicks. Who hasn't? Find one better.
  4. Mike Lansford. '82-'90 barefooted kicker through the great '80s years.
  5. Tony Zendejas. '91-'94. Actually kicked pretty well in some bad years.
  6. Bruce Gossett. '64-'69
  7. David Ray. '69-'74. Not a good distance kicker.
  8. Frank Corral. '78-'81. 3rd round draft pick CHOKED too much.
  9. Tom Dempsey. '75-'76. Club footed former distance record holder missed 13 PATs in 2 years!
  10. Danny Villanueva. '69-'64.
Sucked So bad: Steve Mcglaughlin. 3rd round pick cut after half season meltdown in 1995.

Ten Kickers known for kicking for another Team:

  1. Josh Brown
  2. Dean Biasucci
  3. John Carney (say it in Howard Cosells voice.)
  4. Chip Lohmiller
  5. Rafael Septien
  6. Pete Stoyanovich
  7. Tom Dempsey
  8. Bruce Gossett
  9. Tony Zendejas
  10. Chuck Nelson
There we go! :liar:Next up: PUNTERS:cheers:

True. And back in their day, the football was actually a large chiseled stone. :rolllaugh::football:
