The St. Louis Rams will get a visit from another free agent in the near future. Tennessee Titans free agent defensive end Williams Hayes will visit the Rams and the Broncos, according to Terry McCormick of the Tennessean.
Hayes, a fourth-round pick by the Titans in the 2008 NFL Draft, is just 27-years old. He started just one game last season, and saw action in just 10 games total. His playing time was more significant when Fisher was the head coach.
Hayes' grades were also better when Fisher was the head coach, part of which may be due to the system changes in Fisher's absence. According to Pro Football Focus, Hayes graded out with 9.5 mark in 2010, before finishing with a negative grade last season. He had positive marks against the pass and the run. Hayes had two sacks, five hits and 23 quarterback pressures in 2010. He was more of a neutral grade in 2009, when he started 11 games, but he did record five sacks, five hits and 26 pressures, per PFF.
The former Titan would replace James Hall on the depth chart, if the Rams signed him. Unlike Hall, he would not be the sack specialist, but an overall solid defender that adds some power to the rotation on the outside.
