Over here we call them "Ticket Touts", (I think you guys use the term "Scalper") These guys are really frowned upon and hated, for taking advantage of true fans, but over on your side of the pond it seems to be a lot more tolerated and accepted. Would you guys say that's an accurate assumption or am I completely off the mark?

The reason I ask is, earlier this year myself and the girlfriend were looking for tickets to the Packers game (plans have now fallen through for different reasons ) but only came across resale tickets at outrageous prices.

Next year we will 100% be making a trip over and want to be prepared, so thought I would enquire in here, for the best way to peruse original tickets at face value. Failing that do you know of any sites or places where we could purchase tickets from genuine fans who only want to sell at face value because they can't make a certain game, rather than just trying to make a quick buck from genuine fans.?

Not sure where "Over here" is for you, but I did respect the way my Hamilton tickets were handled when saw it in London a few months back. We actually had to show ID and original credit card that the purchase was made on just to pick up the tickets at the box office. Wish they did that here to keep prices in line.

As far as Rams tickets, I think you got a bit unlucky. I sell my tickets on occasion since I live outside of LA for the time being and can't make all the games. The Packers game was one of the "hot" tickets and folks are selling them far above face to make up for other games that you can't give away. If you're not a diehard Packer fan and want to see the Rams in LA sometime, just plan your trip around the AZ Cardinals visit. You can go for $5 :)

I bought tickets for the raiders game in Oakland this season on the day. Had been keeping an eye on ticketmaster for months and prices were static and then like the week of the game they were dropping pretty fast. It wasn't cheap (like $125 each) but they were $250 at face value. Part of the problem is that tickets are just expensive even at face value for the NFL. That was the nfl ticket exchange so they were legit tickets but they are allowed to be sold at a mark up. They also come down tho, just keep an eye out.

We’ve been hit up by people selling tickets to every game we’ve been to. I tend to not want to rely on scalpers so I always buy mine before hand as I’m also traveling fairly long distances and have many other expenses involved. I’d hate to get there and find that the tickets either were not valid or were unavailable for where I’d want to sit.

Most of the time though, we have gone through either Stub Hub or Ticket Geek for our tickets, have always paid below face value, and have never had a problem. We’ve even bought tickets several times for Rams v Shecocks for under face value.
