This is a good article and got me thinking, who else should the Rams take a close look at? CB and LB look like the two positions where a rookie most likely might gain some playing time

No more WRs please! :) OL Punter (last pick) and TE (H-back) are in the conversation, right? Perhaps a RB or Safety if BPA but please no WRs!

I was reading today that Edge, OT, CB and WR are the four strongest groups with LBs coming in after that. We don't need OT, LB or WR as much as we need CB, Edge, TE and RB. That could bode well. Last year WRs and CBs each had 15 players off the board in the first 103 picks. Edge and OT had 14 each. We could see even higher totals for those strong groups this year in the first 103. So we should be in good shape to grab a need at #104 and #142.

Agree that we likely won't require an OT, although I'd like to hear your opinion for who steps in at RG to replace Austin Corbett ? David Edwards & Bobby Evans are also scheduled for free agent eligibility following our upcoming season.

While a #4TE will be desirable, I imagine we could wait until late in the draft or even seek a UDFA for a blocking specialist. Personally, I'd rate OG, CB, RB & FS higher on my 'need' list.

I don't know. Could be any number of guys. Probably won't be a third round or lower rookie. They have a stable of young lineman and will probably add one or two in the draft or udfa. CB has got to be the #1 need (unless they sign a good UFA). RB is #2 without Michel and probably even if they resign him. I'd put Edge next followed by OG and S. Who can predict with this staff, other than to say I can't wait to watch them do it.

Honestly think tight end is a huge need. While I like Blanton, and while Hopkins showed up in the Super Bowl, they're both very unproven, and Higbee is constantly hurt and a potential trade chip next year. It helps that this year is knee-deep with good tight ends.

I thought TE was a huge need myself prior to the beginning of free agency, and you may remember my wanting David Njoku before Cleveland throwing $11M at him for a 1 year contract. The Rams didn't appear to show much interest in the free agent market at this position, perhaps it had something to do Hopkins & Blanton finally stepping up some or they really have an eye out for a drafted player, but with all 3 of our current TE's under contract for this year and the next, it may be we might not have to prioritize the position as previously thought. Our Rams don't have a lot of draft capital this year, and another mid-round developmental TE won't likely find themselves competing for many receiving yards, although a blocking specialist may be more apt to get snaps, and such a player might be found later in the draft or even as a UDFA.
TE is really up in the air for me right now, anything could happen based on BPA, even re-signing Obj could have an impact on what we do at the position if it's known he'll return by early November. Still, a young blocking specialist may get more snaps in 2022 than some of our other options at TE4, ... I'll return to consulting my Tarot Cards for affirmation.

I agree with drafting a TE but hope we resign Higbee on another reasonable long-term deal! The guy is an awesome all round TE
