I am so excited to see what McVey's O can look like with a QB who uses his eyes and pump fakes to move safeties. Stafford is VERY good at both of those things, and it is something that has been missing. Man am I ready for next season. Lets Go!!!

Also a return to genuine leadership from a QB who shows he has fire in his belly.

A QB who looks to throw deep instead of check down.

I would actually take a few more INTs, for the tradeoff of the big plays. And the THREAT of those big plays opens up the rest of the short/middle offense the Rams thrive on.

That is what is affectionately known around the league as the Jameis

I could add Rams getting a QB with more toughness. Goff is argueably the slightest and physicily weakest QB in the NFL. When the drafted him, he reminded me of Koy Detmer, who was a good QB but also couldn't hang onto the ball. Neither QB was ever accused of being a "gym rat".

Goff may be slight and had issues holding onto the ball but I will never question his toughness.

Yeah, I don't question this toughness. He's just not as strong as others

i often wondered why he didn't spend more time in the gym getting stronger
train

IIRC Goff has some sort of nutritional deficiency issue that makes building mass really difficult.
Idk but whatever he does to take care of his body has worked thus far.

I REALLY like both QBs and Stafford's pump fake is one of the best.

As I said in another thread, Goff's run fake on the play action is one of the best as he does it old school and extends the ball so that anyone with eyes on him can't tell run or pass. There are even vids which praise him for making every run and play action look exactly the same.

I wonder if McVay will have Stafford change that as Stafford extends his forward hand (closest to the LOS, whichever way the play goes) and then brings the ball to a throwing position. It's a small thing, but I noticed it.

I’m excited to see what Stafford brings but I’m ready to move on from Goff. Maybe Goff is not football crazy like McVay and that’s a problem but I’m not buying he isn’t tough, and as for his build, um, how about Brady, Cousins, Ryan, Burrow.

The pump fake is nice. I'm more interested in how Stafford is going to improve his play-action because Goff, for all of his faults, had one of the best play-actions in the league.

Agree, Goff's issue is ABSOLUTELY not his toughness. Goff's one tough hombre.

Is he a monster grinder like McVay, AD, Ramsey and those folks? No.

That doesn't make him a bad guy or a terrible QB or even a bad pro.

It does make him a bad fit under McVay if he's not producing like a top 5 QB and even then...

Besides the pump fakes, Stafford can throw from multiple angles. His sidearm throws are the best in the biz. That part of his game reminds me of Kurt Warner.
To me, Stafford is a poor man's Rodgers. Can do a lot of the same things physically. We're about to find out how far he can take the mental side of his game working with McVay and O'Connell.
