Normally I don't get all bent because bad officiating usually evens out but let me air out my grievances. My wife is a whiners fan so she's objective when I show her replays (of course I'm biased but try not to be). She said the Rams got freaking jobbed.

On the Packers first big play of the game, I couldn't see the number, but a Rams DL was getting a hands to the face right in front of the ref. A minute later, the Packers scored.

Brandin Cooks needs a new Jersey because his got shredded from all the grabbing he took from the Packers.

On the Rams safety against the Packers, Baron was being tackled by a Packers O lineman.

Two calls got overturned (in the Rams favor) in the last few minutes before halftime (WTH - we playing in LA or Green Bay?). Cooks catch looked like a no brainer to me.

In the second half, Goff gets hit after sliding down and giving himself up. (If it was Brady, the whole field would have been yellow).

Roger Saffold got called for holding in a crucial moment down the stretch. Yes, it was holding but at least F-N call it on the Packers too!

haha, gold.

you forgot the forearm swing to jared's face mask when that germ matthews took him down.

jared getting tripped when escaping pressure in the pocket and the packers getting rewarded with a sack. when i was looking at the replays i was like, who touched him for him to fall over. then they showed the head on replay, c'mon. the clearest trip you'd ever see on the field. what was the ref looking at the fuckwit.

While I agree with the officiating being bad, I don’t argue the sack call. You show that in slow motion and yeah, it’s tripping. You watch that in normal speed and there’s no way he knew Jared was going to turn around and have his leg in that exact spot. It was unintentional and at full speed looked like Jared tripped over his own foot.

Well they had back to back big plays overturned. And Alexander was able to hold and tackle cooks before the ball got there. Just awful reffing today.

I feel I'm very objective in watching a game, (I seen more than a few plays we should have gotten called today) but holy shit. The non calls we didn't get today were absolutely blatant and have no idea how they weren't called. It's not just our game, I seen crazy shit on other games last week as well.

League needs to start suspending or firing these bastards like they did last week to start increasing quality.

Respectfully, the refs' job isn't to determine if the tripping is intentional. It's to determine if it happened. One stands behind the play and has a clear view of the QB there. There's absolutely no reason why he shouldn't have saw that trip. It was obviously. And again, respectfully, it looked extremely intentional to me. Goff started to take off, and the DL's leg just happened to kick out and hit Goff right in the leg. DLs don't typically kick their legs out when going for a sack.

May i ask where you saw the head on view in normal speed?

All those calls mentioned in this thread were so obvious too. That's the part that is infuriating. The refs had to literally force themselves to pretend that they didn't see all that shit.

Fucking bullshit. They need to shit can 1 or 2 of the clowns on that crew this week like they did to that blind zebra last week.

I thought the refs were pretty liberal with the flags over all. There were only what? 4 total penalties?
I don’t know what the Rams can do about the Donald/Suh situation. There were 2 replays I recall that were showing a GB highlight and clearly showed them being mugged.

I'm going to agree here they were letting them play, that's why the call on Saffold was shocking. Packer DB's held, in fact, on one play 2nd and third down they held Cooks twice and nothing called, but the Rams hit Rodgers once with the hands in the face and no flag as well, so it went both ways, however, a tad more to Green Bay, but I do watch the game through blue and canary yellow colored glasses.

I was upset on the first possession, however, as the game went on, they were letting them play, but thank goodness for replay as McVay had to challenge Cooks catch and that the Gurley reception was under two minutes.

I always stick up for the refs (cause I am one) but yesterday.... yikes.

*I will, however, stand by the fact that they don't do it on purpose.

Both of those sideline catches were clearly in and the ref was on top of the play both times. Really not sure what they look at sometimes.

I do like how they didn't call roughing on Donald and suh when they pushed Rodgers down

Come on - really? Finally, a game where they let two Big Boy teams just PLAY without throwing two dozen flags, and people still complain????

Every game should be officiated like this! Call extremely blatant penalties only - let the men be men!

Put more refs on the field, each with narrow specified assignments.

That's pure and utter bullshit, yours and mine's definition of blatant are very different. When you see a tug of a jersey all game long (Alexander on Cooks) you need to call that shit.

I'm totally cool with how much they let them play, with two caveats:

First, that hold on Saffold was something they let go all game - they did call GB's DL for holding earlier, although it didn't have the same impact, maybe they considered that evening out? I hope to goodness they were going to hit GB with a holding call on their last drive had it gotten there.

Second, I wish there would have been more replays with our DBs holding their WRs like theirs held ours. I'm cool with letting those guys play - and Peters may have gotten away with one PI that I saw - but it sucks that there were five replays or so with them holding Cooks, and none with one of our DBs holding one of their WRs.

The very concerning thing about this game for me: if you admit that your defense can't line up and stop our offense, then nothing is stopping you from stacking the box, playing man and telling your DBs to hold our WRs. How do we combat that?

They let us play until crunch time. Then, it was time to flag the Rams. That Saffold holding was bullshit and almost cost us the game.

Wish I could agree with you. I saw the replay and they zoomed in on the defender (Clark?), and he was cracking up. He knew he got away with one.

I think the call on Saffold was the 2nd half parity police in action.

It's not "letting them play" when people are blatantly cheating. There's a difference between not calling ticky tack stuff and not calling blatant holds, grabs, etc. Cooks's 2x jersey was a 6x by the end of the game due to all the stretching. The Rams O-Line didn't have to put the Pack's D-line into headlocks to play, but vice versa it went that way. That's not "letting them play".

Why are Cooks and Donald and Suh not allowed to play their game?
