.....that has gone unnoticed by everyone. And I hope this gives everyone more confidence moving forward. I call this my 'cheap score' factor.

When an NFL team gets a score from their defense (fumble recovery/run for TD or a pick 6) unless the other team gets one, or at least a TD from their special teams, the team getting that defensive score wins something like 95% or more of the time. I found this information some time ago and lost it, I am still looking for it- just to support my statement.

However, in the Titans game after the Rams gave up that fumble recovery scoop and score, they just came back and won. When I was watching that, I was hoping we would get that 'cheap score' back as that is the easiest way to get even.....but when we won without it I got really pumped for the playoffs!

The likelihood of this being just coincidence (Rams winning without a 'cheap score') is VERY small...it is more likely that the Rams are MUCH MUCH better than the Titans. By that I mean that it is an indicator that the Rams are a 'Very' Elite team, in fact better than their record indicates.

JMHO....
I will continue to look for this statistic and post back when I find it.

Go Rams!!

That play would have buried most recent Ram teams, but not this one! I had a flashback to the Jacob Bell/ Shelley Smith OL turnstile nightmares.

Our coaches stayed calm, regrouped and we didnt hear Jamon's name again for the rest of the game..

Nice catch! I hadn't noticed that.

I think it's safe to say this team doesn't give very many craps about playing in a hostile environment. Look at the record away from home, and consider the two last road games: both against teams fighting for the division, and even their lives in playoff scenarios. Demolished one, slowly out-grinded the other.

We all we need.

So we are 3-2 overall against the five playoff teams we played in 2017.

We beat;
New Orleans (close game)
Tennessee (close game)
Jacksonville (10 point win)

Lost to;
Minnesota (17 point loss)
Philadelphia (close game)

Should be a close game.

And Minnesota was dead even until Kayvon Webster went out with a concussion and NRC was already out. The Vikings basically just abused our CB depth, particularly Hadfield, after that... Thielen with that 65 yard td because of an awful missed tackle close to line of scrimmage. Plus, Kupp had a couple of really bad drops in that game as well that would have set us up for possible points. That Vikings D is no joke and something we'll still have to overcome if we play them but it was a dead heat until our injuries gave them a spark. This team can beat anyone.

Back in the days of the GSOT, KW had games where he threw multiple picks and the Rams were still good enough to beat teams by 2 or more scores even though they lost the turnover battle. But yeah, that is not normal, most of the time the team that gets more takeaways will win the game.

Technically then, the Eagles did something remarkable too, against us.

Of course, because of the last meaningless play of the game, it technically won't count.

But the Rams got an INT in plus territory immediately followed by a TD. Then after halftime, we blocked a punt and returned it for a TD.

The Eagles eventually got a fumble and converted the game winning FG off of it...

And then of course, in garbage time got one last TD.

Great point that the Rams recovered from the giveaway TD. It helped that it only took two plays to get a TD and the lead back. They also hung in against the Eagles when down at the half as well as tie the Skins after being down 20-20. All different ways that show this Rams team doesn't give up like many other.

We have a lot of hungry players on here that are ready to see the playoffs.

Agreed. And they're all highly focused towards one goal and executing at a high level. We might get eliminated of course in any given game, but one thing's for sure: it won't be due to effort or focus or preparation.

Can't wait for Sat night.

Me neither! Thus weekend won’t come any faster!

And why would the last play of the game not count again?
Of course it counts and no the Eagles did not do something remarkable vs us.
There is no way to know that - had that play not happened, we would not have gone down and taken the lead. At that point if we had, it would have been a win.

Huh?

The Eagles got one non offensive TD against us. But it was after the game was decided. They would have won the game 37-35, and that was with the Rams blocking a punt and returning it for a TD, and then we both exchanged turnovers that lead to points - but ours lead to a TD and theirs a FG.

That's remarkable - especially when you consider that we are a MUCH better team than the Titans.

I know they did. That was my point.
Nice try.

So because YOU say the game was decided, then it does not count.
Wow....I wish I could alter reality like that.

Look, if you dont like statistics or the facts just say so.
Or just say, well I just don’t want to count that defensive TD the Eagles got, ummm just because I don’t want to. It makes as much sense as the rest of your argument.

First I would like to apologize for the shortness of my post. That was uncalled for. And I missed on some stuff there too.

My original intent was to state that the quick scores - I refer to that mean so much happen when the game is on the line and in reasonable doubt.
You are correct factually here, I was just meaning when a team gets a defensive score, when the game is still in doubt, it's very difficult for the opposing team to overcome it without a defensive score or at least (I do believe defensive scores are more damaging than special teams scores) a special teams score.

Sorry bro.
