This time of year, teams evaluate their core of players and the compliments needed. The Fisher/Snead team have done a nice job working to build a core of players to build around.
So what is a core player? My definition is a young player and/or a player that the team would target to keep their entire career. A nucleus player.
Offense: Bradford, Jackson
Offense (potential core): Kendricks, Saffold
Defense: Long, Quinn, Finnegan, Lauranaitis
Defense (potential core): Jenkins, Brockers
One could argue Givens and Quick could move into potential range. Perhaps Zuerlein. But, a team can only afford to pay so many nucleus players and if the players are too young and/or unproven it's difficult to see them as a core player just yet.
I've listed Jenkins and Brockers because those guys showed some pro-bowl potential. But, they too need a little more time to prove their status as a core player.
