Okay...

LOL

We are not. I know that. :giggle:... But this quote made me think how close we are, though...

The sad thing is.. we still should have won, because Goff's fumble was not a fumble.

And...

Zuerlein hits that 44 yarder... like he does almost every time... we beat Seattle 32-30 week 5 and... Boom... 5-4 becomes 7-2.

I am not downplaying our issues. Our OL is struggling and we need the offense to adjust to that... We have work/things to get right.

But, we are still a team NOBODY wants to play. I am proud of that. This is what I’ve wanted all along... then let‘s play.

5-4 is an uphill battle. But there are 7 games to get hot... 7 games of surprise losses to teams in front of us because it happens every week.... 7 games of injuries to shape teams in front of playoffs... 7 games for the NFL to live up to its “Not For Long” moniker....

I‘m excited for Sunday!! It’s a journey!

Go Rams!

yea and against the niners.

A henderson Fumble and a 4th and 1 at the goaline. Otherwise we win.

The Oline is too beat up though. Maybe Evans can hold up till
Havenstein gets back.

We had a couple of close wins too. Carolina, Cleveland.

This team is being held hostage by the OL. Goff is not good enough to overcome it, and neither is McVay.

Watching the all22 I see a QB who is rushing throws not to get sacked. He EXPECTS to get hit on just about every drop back. As a result he’s missing open guys.

This problem isn’t getting better this year behind this mash unit OL. The best we can hope for is Goff gets through it in one piece.

This season was one hell of a wake up call for McVay. I just hope they don’t think they’ve got all the OL players they need on the roster now. If they don’t seriously address the OL in the off-season, they should be charged with negligence.

Last year the Rams had two wins versus Seattle that came down to last second D stops.
I fact there were four wins be 3 points or less. So close being 9-7.
The margins in the NFL are very slim.
If this years team was healthy they could be capable of going on a run. Hard to see that with the current situation.
But, since Ramsey has come over the D has given up 10 points a game. They are playing well.
The Rams could sneak a win vs the Bears.
My hope for this year is to avoid a losing season.

Carolina was a cruise for the most part.
That game was never in jeopardy I think.

Go Rams!

Just seems to me like the Rams along with playing really well last season they also stayed relatively healthy and the breaks seemed to go their way but UNFORTUNATELY they have NOT had as much luck with staying healthy or getting any breaks this season! Maybe, Just MAYBE, They will start getting some breaks go their way and stay healthy the rest of this season! IF, That can happen then I still think the Playoffs can happen (A LONG SHOT BUT STILL POSSIBLE!)!!!

I was there, it got uncomfortable near the end.

problem there was Goff was off most of the game, couldn’t put the game away.

McVays approach of not playing OL starters in PS was a miscalculation. I doubt that happens again. He’s gonna play the OL, whatever it is, in PS next year and Goff will play in at least 1 game.

The game never felt in doubt really.
They never trailed and a late TD made it close. Relatively comfortable road win.

Yeah McVays preseason vacation has to come to an end. The Offense has been rusty pretty much all year because of the lack of cohesion

It's a good point and I've often thought we were so close in winning two more games. Last year the ball bounced our way this year not so much. Such is the life of an NFL team.

Yes skipping preseason for some players looks like a mistake. Guys weren't up to speed and some got to keep jobs they weren't good enough to have in the first place.

Wake-up call. In the Les Snead era (2012-present) snead sucks at evaluating and drafting offensive-linemen.

Hold up there cowboy.

Edwards has been good to great in his roll.
Allen isn't bad by any means
Hav was one of the best RTs in the league for 3 years up to this year
And boom is average in his first year.

I dont think snead is bad at all. I think the rams overplayed their hand when letting some people walk and playing guys out of position. Also not playing those young guys in preseason was obv a mistake

Nothing to see here. The line separating victory vs. defeat in the NFL is razor thin. Every team can play this game of "if X, Y, and Z happened.... we'd have a much better record!". You are what you record says you are. Find a way to win the games. The Rams are full value for their middling record to date. Hopefully they can right the ship. We've seen teams with make shift o-lines hold up very well against us in the past. It is time for the Rams to find a way to do the exact same thing. Good coaching can cover up a lot. Scheme to accommodate your weaknesses.

I'd really like to know what the reasoning was. I think McSnead are still great at drafting and player eval, but probably missed badly on gauging how crucial (and rare) quality OL personnel is? Which if true, still surprises the hell out of me.

Disagree. The offense has had a lack of cohesion because of the OL issues. The Rams gambled that last year's rookies would be ready to start this season on the OL - not just start, but play next to each other instead of having experienced players on either side, which is how they played in limited time last season. Then the injuries started to add up, while they were not getting a lot of help from this year's draftees. It was a gamble, partially necessitated by the desire to throw limited resources at the defense. Which HAS improved, despite some injuries there.

As fans, we were spoiled by last season, when nearly everything seemed to go right during the regular season. Even when they had concerns at running back last season, they were able to pick up an aging guy who played very well for them.

I have a better feeling about this one then i did PITT.
McV is going to have to gameplan his way out of this though. I don't see the pass pro miraculously getting better overnight so i'm hoping we see some higher % playcalling to compliment our defense vs a poor Bears offense.

I mean you aren't wrong, football is a game of inches. I want my Jared back, but either one of the things needs to change. The current passing game, or the line. Both would be ideal, but to be realistic only one is going to happen. Please McVay, get the ball out of Goff's hands, and keep the defense guessing.
