I remember seeing the tough running back for the Pittsburgh Steelers during the 70's and knew that he had been on multiple Super Bowl winning teams. What I didn't know was that this guy was drafted by the Army and fought in Viet Nam. He was drafted after his rookie season with the Steelers, when almost all other NFL players were not.

His legs were seriously damaged by a grenade blast. They were able to save his right foot, but the Viet Nam Docs told him he's never play football again. After which he was an integral part of four Super Bowl wins with the last one against our Rams.

Thank you for your service, Sir.

It was hard to root against the Steelers back then with stories like Bleier & Franco Harris. Plus the Steelers beat the Cowboys twice in the Super Bowl, so that was great. However, once I experienced Steeler fandom plus that during the Bill Cowher era, every Steeler fan looked like him including the women, I have developed a dislike for the franchise, however, respect that they have only had three Head Coaches since 1969.
