Cincinnati Bengals Trade for RT Rob Havenstein

The Cincinnati Bengals don't make splashy offseason moves. They tend to go about their business and build their roster through bargain shopping and the draft. Their activity in last year's free agency was shocking, but it's unlikely the franchise will take a similar route this year.
Even so, Cincinnati's offseason is built around one concept: building a better offensive front to protect last year's No. 1 pick, quarterback Joe Burrow.
Los Angeles Rams right tackle Rob Havenstein is an interesting possibility because of his reliability (84 starts in six seasons) plus a relationship with Bengals head coach Zac Taylor, who was the Rams' quarterbacks coach in 2018. Havenstein would expand Cincinnati's options with the fifth draft pick since it is already set at left tackle with Jonah Williams.
Los Angeles Rams Trade DT Michael Brockers

The Los Angeles Rams already made their ideal offseason trade by acquiring quarterback Matthew Stafford. Now, the organization finds itself in a familiar place. The Rams don't have a first-round pick (again) and need to shed salary. They're currently $25.2 million over the projected salary cap, per Spotrac. Los Angeles doesn't have any obvious moves it can make to solve the problem. The team isn't getting rid of Aaron Donald, Jalen Ramsey or Cooper Kupp. Michael Brockers is different since he turns 31 in December and the team allowed him to hit free agency a year ago before re-signing him. The Rams can save $6.2 million by trading him before June 1. That wouldn't single-handedly put them in the black, but it's a logical step considering their current cap crunch.

Based on how the Rams operate, I don't see how we trade either of these players. Both are veterans and are solid starters. The Rams already show hesitation from wanting high draft picks.

Further, do the Bengals see them as upgrades over Reader and Hart. Not sure it's a good deal for the Bengals either.

IMO our "ideal trade" already happened and upgraded us at QB.

Both those guys above are under good contracts and are valuable on the field. So if we do move them it has to be for good compensation. I'd rather see them both extended than involved in firesale type moves to lower cap but yeah I'm ready to see either or both moved.

I don’t think you’ll see much Compensation for either of these players.A 4th rd at most, but both players might need to be traded for salary cap issues? I’m not a Big number cap guy,but both players could be the lesser of there backups.
This is what has made the Mcvay development so solid.

You mean Cooks, Ramsey, Goff, and Peters? You are aware the Rams gave away first round draft picks for these guys not received them right.

Peters bit on double moves and wasn't worth his contract or headache. Goff and his decision making wasn't the answer at QB. The Rams just don't trade away solid starters for fourth round picks. How long would it take those fourth round picks to develop? Three years? Not good enough when the Rams are in win now mode.

Yeah, Hart is a total bust of a free agent signing. I've been riding the Havenstein-to-Cincy-for-a-pick-or-two train since last year.

What if the Rams Org. believe they already have players who are more than ready to start & be complete players @ the 5 tech DL & RT posts?

I certainly would not think that Snead would consider these two perspective long term veteran trades based purely on receiving a couple of third-day draft selections in return.

In addition who's to say that these above posted "solid starters" are not worth more in value more to the order of a couple of 2nd-day draft selections?

It's my belief that if these were to be strongly considered .....they would be based on...... the effort to deliver critical relief to the highly definitive current #1 problem.....lack of salary funds $$$$. Thus the relief obtained might be utilized to bring in better talent to certain areas needing an injection of far better talent in order to be in contention for a SB run.

One other thing we're not really talking about is that the Rams could be a player on the post-cut market that is coming. If they sort their shit and are ready to pounce when it hits I have to think their contender status puts them in a really nice position to find some cheap JAGs or maybe even a young player or two who has some upside.

Say What ? Are you talking TRADDING 4 ?? You might be right ?

What did The Rams give up for Peters.I don’t want to look back, but I believe it was a 2nd rd pick.

What about Fowler ?A 2nd as well ?? I’m truly not sure.

My point was not WHAT the RAMS give up.It’s who they just trade away, when the player is not ascending.

Brockers has seen his better days.
Rob Havenstien still has value & The Rams have more depth than some are thinking. Then again I don’t know what Bug Rob means to the offense & look room.
