Stopped at a local watering hole Weds after work, and noticed they installed a few new dart boards, which is cool because not many places around here have em.

Stopped in again yesterday after work and brought my darts with me. Figured I would throw a few games just to see if I still had it. Guy challenges me to a game, says we could play $5 a game. I suggested we play for a drink instead, and promptly switched to Stoli O on the rocks :)

Beat him 3 straight games, really without a challenge. He was a little bit upset. He grabs his phone off the bar and walks outside. 15 minutes later a guy walks in and sits down next to him, and they look over at me a couple times.. The new guy walks over to me and says "heard you been taking my boys money, and he wants it back. Lets play. and drops a 20 on the bar. Now I got a decent glow on so I say sure lets dance. He tells me I get to pick the game, so right off I tell him 301 double in double out. I screw around and give him a 2 round head start, then double in with a 20, trip 20 and the single 20. Next round I bang trip 19 and 2 single 20's leaving me at 84. 3rd round 20,20 and a 12 (missed the trip) and take it the game out with a double 16.

He tells me I got lucky and says double or nothing. I dont fuck around this game and am done in 4 rounds...he still in the 200's.

One more time he says double or nothing, but this time we play cricket. Sure I say and then finish him off in 10 darts. HE WAS PISSED !!!

They finished off their drinks and left in a hurry. The bartender tells me they ran this routine on a few people, and was going to warn me, but figured when I switched from Bud Light to Stoli I knew what I was doing. Gave him my number and told him to give me a call if they set up any leagues or tourneys.

I played both, but really prefer steel tips opposed to the electronics. Started off playing plastic, but was offered a spot on a steel tip team back in the day, and never really went back to plastics except when dicking around in a bar. Love throwing those crooked ass plastic house darts that weigh about 5 grams LOL

Sweet.

I used to play in a soft tip league. I was never great, but had been known to get red hot. There are days when the bulls looks like saucers.

I wondered if you guys across the pond even used electronic boards. I used to play darts every Thursday night. Pretty much only have electronic boards in the bars here. I have my own darts for those boards though,,, even had some Ram helmet tails on em for a while.

Cricket is my favorite game.

Isn't Rhody from the States?

Anyway - I used to play a fair amount. I can't stand electronic darts. I've got a couple sets of Rams darts and we have two boards here at the pub. I don't get to play all that much anymore. Always fun to make shecock fans play with Rams darts.

When I used to play 25 years ago, one of the guys at work was from South Africa and apparently played in a lot of leagues over there. He would just toy with me. That's how I knew I should never assume I was good enough to bet money.

That's too funny, way to go.

I had a guy that worked for me a long while ago that was a a serious dart player. It was uncanny to watch him, you sound like your as good or better.

Once we had him stand further back than everyone else and thought we had him because his first few darts were bad. Once he got his range though it was back to slaying it. He could hit what you called most of the time.

I've never played enough to be anything more than average.

well to answer @SelassieI question, while in London I was in about 2-3 different pubs a day,and didn't see an electronic board anywhere. And these werent your touristy pubs either. I had a buddy (Ram Fan) who lives there showing us around the city, the stuff tourist dont get to see too often, and he took me to some of his favorite watering holes off the beaten path.
