I just happened to flip to the local Eagles game last night right before this play. Quez Watkins has been a star at Eagles camp after not much production in 2020 as a rookie. He ran the 40 in 4.35 at the combine. Just a reminder of how quickly the Rams newly acquired speed could affect the offense. Having deep threads and a strong-armed quarterback will also open the running game as defenses will have to play the safeties back which opens the box. (Per D Farr) Henderson may not have the great long speed but, he has one of the fasted 10 and 20-yard splits of any player in the league. It is worth it to click the link.

Offense
4.35 DeShaun Jackson ran the same time in 2008 but, reportedly is still fast.
4.32 Tutu Atwell was reported to have run a 4.27 at some point in time.
4.38 Jake Funk He tested well at his pro day, running a 4.38 40-yard dash and 38 inches in the vertical.
4.39 Jacob Harris at 6'5" over 220 Lbs TE/WR? has been impressive as a rookie already.
???? Van Jefferson didn't run a 40 because of injury but, was clocked at high speeds at the SR. Bowl.

Defense
4.39 Robert Rochell brings speed to the DB room. Also 43" Vertical Jump.
4.38 Tyler Hall just signed CB out of Wyoming. He is 5'8" but has timed as low as 4.38 in the 40.

It's fun to think about the possibilities!

oh yea I can see us doing exactly that. Before I watched I thought you were talking about
a deep bomb. But that was awesome. the blocking was also great on that play.
Which we also have some TE'S , WR'S who can block up a quick hit play like that very consistently.

Elite speed can be a game changer. That DB looked like he had the angle to make the tackle and the kid just outran it. Can't wait to see Tutu in the role.
