I honestly think the Rams defense was embarrassed by that last Niners game. Watch the difference in intensity between that game and the next vs the Cardinals. They came out with a different sense of urgency, a different level of energy. They carried that over into the Tampa game where they dominated Tom and company. If it wasn't for the four fumbles, this game wouldn't have been close. I think they clamp down on the Niners run game Sunday and force Jimmy to carry the team. I see a Rams 24-13 victory.

Sure would be nice to kick the shitters asses but all I care about is the W. Just survive and advance.

I'm reading them the same though. I agree they responded to that loss in week 18. And I think they get this done.

I'm wondering if SJD is gonna be available on the DLine Sunday. I think he can be a boost.

The DLine has to be relentless...penetrating the LOS to make the SF RBs have to stutter-step finding holes.

We know they're gonna double AD and run at him.

I hear people knocking Reeder and while he ain't the best in coverage he does ok against the run. The Ram D' needs EVERYONE TO TACKLE WELL!!!

I think if mcVay is smart he keeps sjd and Jones out this game. If we win they'll both have two weeks to get up to speed for the SB

3 games in a row with the Rams turning up the intensity in the first half started vs Whiners:

vs Whiners 17-3
vs Cardinals 21-0
vs Bucs 20-3
--------------
3 game total 58-6

They just need to maintain that in the 2nd half like they did with the Cardinals.

They really weren't bad in the 2nd half against the Bucs, but we kept giving the ball back.
Many of us here saw that. I was referring to just overall... don't let them back in it. I believe another 1st half like those this Sunday should help put us in the SB.

We know the whiners. We know what they want, like, and are good at doing on offense. We played it extremely well in week 18 for the first half (outside of the last min, but the whiners actually stepped out of their regular offense to drive down the field). For some unbelievable reason, we altered our defensive approach in the second half to defend the way the whiners played on their last drive, rather then their regular offense. And we never really adjusted back to it that game, which is utterly baffling. I feel like Morris plays scared with the lead. He's terrified of giving up the big play to get the opposition back in the game. Problem is, whiners welcome a soft defense and drive it down their throat.

We have to come out and play with the same defensive intensity we had in the first half and maintain it until the final whistle blows. Fine, if we are up by 30 in the 4th, lets get some subs in. Actually, lets just plan on that scenario.

How did Reeder do against Fournette on the TD run that tied the game? All it took was one step outside and Reeder crumbled to the ground. He simply cannot change direction or dictate contact.

Reederd strength is stopping the inside runs and he is solid at blitzing inside, get him outside and you can beat him to the edge. All teams know this and its a definite chink in our armor. Whiners all have good athletic LB's and thats one of the reasons they stop our runs so often.

Morris said yesterday that Reeder will keep the dot because they don't want to force Jones out there full time this quickly and will only use him in specific packages this week if he is good to go. So hopefully Reeder has his best game regarding tackling angles he's ever had because Deebo likes to make him and Rapp look silly.

No, the 9ers changed their run approach in the second half.. going to tosses outside.. and that simple twist fucked the Rams up.

The last drive? Fuller was out and it's very likely Rapp was out there with a significant concussion. Shit happens at the end of games, that's why you do everything you can to keep the ball on offense.

Play tight? Hi Tampa.
Play too lose? Hi Buffalo.

19 missed tackles in the last 9ers game. To me, that is more important than any defensive play call that day.

We should try using a full back in our run game against these guys. That would neutralize their LBs and let us control more of the game.

Jones is gonna play more snaps than they are letting on. We need him to help counter that interchangeable backfield and provide quick tackles in space.

You're gonna judge the guy on that one play? Ok he missed that tackle but does that mean you bench the guy?

Then bench everyone who misses a tackle.

I'll say it again....Reeder aint all that but he's serviceable. USE HIM FOR WHAT HE DOES WELL.

Exactly.
What we need is the best tackling game of Reeder's life.

Yeah he wasn’t the one who should have had containment. He got an arm on Fournette’s legs but it wasn’t enough.

I don't think that play was Reeder's fault. 4th and 1, the Bucs unexpectedly run outside, and Reeder is supposed to tackle the 240 lb. Fournette in the backfield? Reeder got his hand on his ankle but it wasn't enough. Had he made the stop it would have been the best defensive play of the game but imo it was a long shot to even get that close.
