Saw this topic on twitter, so I thought I'd bring it here... My first choice would be Coach Norman Dale in Hoosiers, followed by Coach Herman Boone in Remember the Titans. The funniest would be Coach Lou Brown in Major League.

What are choices? I bet @den-the-coach picks Vermeil in Invincible!

As much as I liked Greg Kinear & Dennis Quaid playing Dick Vermeil it’s Herman Boone (Denzel) hands down along with Will Patton playing Bill Yoast his DC.

Nothing beats Kurt Russell portraying Coach Herb Brooks for the 1980 Men’s Hockey team…

Coach Herman Boone:

This was a tough call for me. Not the coach. For me, it's definitely Patches O'Houlihan.

The difficult decision was which quote to post. The other top options, for me, were:
The wisdom of ... 'If you can dodge a wrench, you can dodge a ball'
The offensive, inappropriate but hilarious comment about 'humping a door-knob'
Or, the classic 'Five D's of dodgeball'. If you don't know them ... Well ... I am very disappointed.

I'm surprised @CGI forgot about the greatest Canadian coach ever, eh.

I don't know who the football coach was in Radio, but he gets my vote for how he - in the film and real life - treated Radio. It was miles and beyond what others in that time treated people with developmental disabilities, and it stuck with me from the first time I saw it.
