Starts tonight in Brisbane, anyone interested or do you think I'm nuts for staying up until midnight to watch a couple of hours before having some kip? By the way it is Australia vs England at Cricket if you are wondering!

Thanks for asking, didn't seem to be much interest! They are currently playing the first of five test matches and we (England) are being well and truly outplayed and look very much like we'll lose the first game. So not only is my sleep being interrupted, I'm having to put up with gloating Aussies at work (nothing worse I can tell you). I actually fly out there a week today to take a couple of the games in, so they better improve.

I could do with a West Ham/Rams double this weekend to cheer me up I think!!

for those wondering, The Ashes is a yearly cricket match between Australia and England. It is named so because way back when 100 years ago or so, Australia beat England, and a writer penned an obituary saying

"English Cricket has died. The body will be cremated and the ashes shall be shipped to Australia"

or something to that effect

Please do not ask me how I know this...it's just one of those things.

I really learned a lot about Cricket from a bloke in a pub in downtown London a few years back. I struck up a conversation with him as he was watching a match. We compared all the similarities and differences between it and baseball. Not too many "Yanks" give the game a second thought though. I ended up watching quite a bit of Cricket and Rugby on the web for awhile after that. So I hope the Ashes turns out the way you wish. Go England!

Much harder to follow the Australian tests unfortunately, will usually catch every ball (via Radio 4) for the England tests, not looking good for us.
