But but but… it's SOCCER!That so freaking ticked me off. That was against my Orlando Lions. Our new goalie has been pissing me off since the 1st time I saw him. FUUUUUCCCCKKKK!
Our local sports radio shows are killing our goalie for that disgust. My God!
But but but… it's SOCCER!
Nah man I get it. I used to watch the Aztecs many years ago when I lived in LA. I also watch the US teams in the world cup when it's on and I'm near a TV . I just can't get with the flopping that is going on these days. It seems to be mostly with the European leagues but I noticed it when I was trapped into watching a Portland Timbers game. Oddly, I don't see it happen as much with the US women's team. Still for me it is hard to watch soccer unless there is a US national team playing. Maybe if they scored occasionally....I used to feel the same way... but when Orlando got this MLS team... I started giving it a chance. Plus, T loves soccer and tries hard to edu-ma-cate me on it. My neighbor has Primo season tickets he gives to us all the time. I had no choice but to let it take a small hold on my tiny mind.
Then... I started watching some Premier League soccer. That's when I discovered that they played a completely different sport in comparison to MLS. These MLS players basically are either just getting into the pro ranks (and most of em will never make it far) or they are old ass guys from the real leagues who are just trying to earn their last paydays. MLS is worse than the minor leagues in quality... as you can see from the goal in this very thread.
Orlando City actually took Central Florida by storm when they got into the MLS. We set the record for attendance at a soccer game for all of the North American continent during their 1st home game. That's since been broken... and the Lions have since broken our spirits with suckatood over the last 3+yrs.
I still hate certain things about the sport... and I make fun of... and bitch out loud about those things as I watch the games. But the thing is... I freaking watch the games now. Guess you could say it's hooked me.
BTW... GO USA
