Like the Notorious B.I.G. once rapped, “Mo Money Mo Problems.”
After cornerback Janoris Jenkins signed a
five-year, $62 million contract with the Giants in March, two different Florida women filed petitions in state court in which they seek increased child support payments and other benefits, according to court documents obtained by the Daily News.
Each woman, La’Tasha Jones and Lakenya Campbell, has one child with Jenkins.
TMZ reported Wednesday that a third woman, Sontaevia Armstrong, requested similar increases in benefits for her two children with Jenkins, as well as a new home in a “man-guarded and gated community,” in Florida, according to court documents obtained by the website.
Jones and Campbell each filed a “supplemental petition for modification” in Palm Beach County earlier this year, and both women entered into a paternity settlement with Jenkins in 2013.
In addition to modified child support payments, Jones requests for Jenkins “to pay for private school and all related expenses for the child,” and for Jenkins to “increase the face amount of life insurance Father is required to carry to secure his child support obligation commensurate with the new child support award.” Jones also asks to “adjust the responsibilities of the Parties with regard to payment of extracurricular activities…”
Campbell requests similar modifications, but she asks that her child support payments include “an upward deviation of 5% based upon Father’s failure to spend any time with the child.”
An assistant to Deirdre Marroney, the attorney for both Jones and Campbell, said Marroney would not comment on the cases.
According to the court documents from both paternity settlements, Jenkins agreed in 2013 to pay $4,000 a month in child support to both Jones and Campbell. Jenkins’ gross income is listed as $84,000 in the 2013 documents. Jones’ child with Jenkins was born in 2009, while Campbell’s child with the newly-signed Big Blue player was born in 2010.
The 27-year-old Jenkins spent the first four years of his career with the Rams.
