Lol..

The Rams opened up Organized Team Activities to the media for the first time on Thursday. A few things to come out of the workout, which lasted around two hours:

• The newest Ram, tackle Thomas Brown, is a mountain of a man. Signed as a college free agent out of Mississippi earlier this week, Brown is listed at 6-foot-10 and 385 pounds. But he is even bigger than that.

"Actually, we weighed him in at 403," Rams coach Jeff Fisher said. "We had him in for a rookie tryout and he had some issues we had to clear up from a physical standpoint. But we put that behind us. We worked him out on both sides of the ball and decided that his best position would be offensive tackle.

"He's a defensive lineman trying to convert to offense, but he got through practice.''

He could be our special teams ace. Park him in the middle on FG attempts.

Who is that gigantic offensive lineman?

<a class="postlink" href="http://blogs.clarionledger.com/um/2010/08/11/who-is-that-gigantic-offensive-lineman/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://blogs.clarionledger.com/um/2010/ ... e-lineman/</a>

OXFORD — The first question I get asked when talking to fans about Ole Miss preseason camp is pretty obvious: How do the quarterbacks look?

But many times, the second question is this: Who is that gigantic offensive lineman?

That offensive lineman is Terrell Brown, a 6-foot-11, 390-pounder from Drew. Co-offensive coordinator Mike Markuson said Brown’s football experience is very limited and he’s almost too huge to play football because it’s tough for him to bend down and be flexible enough to get good drive off the offensive line. If he does contribute, it’ll likely be a year or two down the road. But he’s every bit of that 6-11, 390. He’s nearly a full head taller than left tackle Bradley Sowell when they stand next to each other and Sowell is about 6-7 and 305.

As for the rest of the offensive line, it appears the Rebels are finally beginning to develop some depth. From left to right, the starters are Sowell, Alex Washington, A.J. Hawkins, Rishaw Johnson and Bobby Massie. The backups, from left to right, are Emmanuel McCray, Michael Brown, Evan Swindall, Chris Gill and Logan Clair. On the third string, Josh Tatum and Jared Duke could be useful as well.

Sowell and Massie are the starters with the most experience. Washington’s lost a lot of weight over the past year, which should help. Hawkins has snapped the ball very well in practice, but Markuson has complained about a “shut-off switch” that happens when he gets tired. Johnson is the most physically talented interior lineman of the bunch, especially in regards to strength.

That’s not to say all 12 of the guys listed above are All-SEC caliber right now. But it looks like Markuson is pretty confident he can get eight or nine good linemen out of the group. Also, Matt Hall is practicing but ineligible after transferring from Arkansas. He should have a role in 2011.

* In today’s Clarion-Ledger, we take a look at quarterback Randall Mackey, who has played very well during the first few practices. Also, in today’s notebook, we find that Jeremiah Masoli keeps impressing people as well.

NFL scouts take a look at 6-foot-10, 388-pound Terrell Brown

[wrapimg=right]http://nbcprofootballtalk.files.wordpress.com/2013/03/terrellbrown.jpg?w=145[/wrapimg]Terrell Brown barely played college football, getting on the field for only two games during his senior season at Ole Miss. But 6-foot-10, 388-pound athletes don’t come around very often, and so it’s not surprising that NFL scouts are taking a look at Brown.

Although no Ole Miss players were invited to the Scouting Combine, Gil Brandt of NFL.com reports that representatives from 12 NFL teams were at Mississippi’s Pro Day. Brown was the center of attention.

Brown’s measurements were, of course, amazing. He had 38-inch arms (more than two inches longer than any offensive lineman at the Scouting Combine) and his wingspan is a ridiculous 92 inches, or more than seven and a half feet from hand to hand when his arms are outstretched. He ran a 5.80-second 40-yard dash and managed 22 repetitions at 225 pounds in the bench press.

So can Brown play in the NFL? Probably not. As former Ole Miss offensive coordinator Mike Markuson once said, Brown is almost too huge to play football because he struggles to bend down and get low, he’s not very flexible and he has a hard time getting much burst out of his stance. Ole Miss tried Brown out on both the offensive line and the defensive line, but he spent most of his time on the sideline.

Still, Brown’s size is jaw-dropping. (In the photo, he’s standing next to a nurse during an Ole Miss team visit to a children’s hospital — yes, that’s a grown woman, not a child.) It wouldn’t be at all surprising to see some team give Brown a shot as an undrafted free agent. And if Brown does make it, he’ll be the biggest player in the NFL.

Thats a dumbass coach IMO. He's a good athlete but because of his size he cannot play in a three point stance....so you PUT him in positions where he was in a three point stance? No wonder he struggled LOL.

Put him in the backfield.

He runs a 5 minute 40 yard dash.
Make him backup QB. He can definitely see the whole field.
