In case you didn't notice, Tavon Austin tackled, a little late, Ahmad Brooks yesterday. Brooks is listed at 260lbs. You can see the highlight that was called back for a facemask here http://www.nfl.com/gamecenter/20151...gameinfo|contentId:0ap3000000570441&tab=recap it's at the 1:45 minute mark.

Yup HUGE props to him on that play. He is silencing his critics this year since he is being used correctly.

That's all heart right there. That happened right in front of us in our section. Tavon throws some big blocks for his size too. He laid out a dude last week.

I don't have lots of fancy computer equipment but maybe Brooks is down at the half yard line if the refs miss the facemask penalty.

Metaphorically I liken him to a cheetah on that tackle.
I watch a lot of nature and animal tv shows. Cheetahs don't take down larger prey but lions do. He's like a really fast lion.

Can we ever watch enough? Sorry I wasn't trying to be persnickety, I really liked the reference and the work you put in to that.
No worries. I enjoy learning any animal fact.

On Gurley's big run last week, Tavon made a key block and then tried to take someone else out by throwing himself at their legs. He didn't succeed but the fact he was willing to even try says a great deal.

He's always been happy to block for others. It's one of the things that I love about his play.

A couple weeks ago they had a gif of a jaguar jumping off of a cliff, into some water, and emerging a minute later with a caiman (which is basically a mini-crocodile). Fucking metal, man.

The more I watch Tavon, I notice the dude gives so much fucking effort on every play. Whether it's the ball in his hands, blocking, chasing down a player after a turnover. Dude gives it his all.

I know he hasn't quite lived up to his 1st round selection, but he does alot of things stats don't show like being a great decoy and throwing blocks. 16 total TD's in 35 games aint too bad either.

I've picked up on that this year as well! I hope that spirit rubs off on some of his offensive counterparts.

He's finally being used this year. There were a lot of Schotty defenders here the last couple years who were insistent it was Tavon being a bust.

Georgia fans are finding out too....just see this past week.

Tavon did have to put in some work on perfecting route running and catching.

However, too many people here get too hung up about draft position. He was taken #8 overall; therefore, he is suppose to be lighting up the league from Day One, etc. The fact is, even if a player has elite skills, he may still have to put in a ton of work to be fully effective at the pro level, and the level of preparation varies for each player no matter the draft level.
