Lets put this into perspective a bit. Yes the last 2 weeks SUKED!!!

However this is the NFL, every team is flawed, EVERY team.

Last year TB was 7-5 and won the SB, it sure didn't look great for them when they were 7-5 as it doesnt look great for us now.

This BYE could not have come at a better time for this team. Will they beat GB? I have no idea, what I do know is if we don't turn the ball over twice in the 1st quarter we will be competitive with a chance to win. I'm not saying the 2 picks caused both losses but man it is really tough to come back from that.

We win a couple here in a row and the whole mood of the team shifts...that's what I'm banking on.

Stay positive....

Beautiful perspective and, yes, it's possible.

The Rams have played very soft, especially on offense, over the last few weeks.

It's going to take a complete mental reset for them to make a run, but it is possible. I just wonder what McVay is going to see as the biggest problems the team needs to address.

I am kind of tired of seeing the Tampa Bay comparisons.

Tampa Bay had Tom Brady. End of story.

I'm still positive, too many playmakers to not be. The two back to back interceptions two weeks in a row were just ridiculous back breakers. Throw in the second one of each being a pick six and both almost immediately following the first... come on man. Wonder if that's ever happened before two weeks in a row like that in 1st quarter? A couple bad decisions is all it takes to ruin a game plan and feel of a game. It's unfortunate we come out of the bye against our top three competition for the NFC but is what it is. Hopefully McVay calms the team down a bit and refocuses them. Lot of season left to play.

There is.
But McVay's decisions are starting to concern me. How quickly he abandon's the run game.. the weird, desperation fake FG.. the defensive game plan (sorry, but I don't believe for a minute that the scheme decisions are all Morris)... I think he needs to do some serious self-scouting.

Sure, it's possible. But until McVay commits to offensive balance, including running the ball, taking what the defense gives him, and mixing in some shorter passes with the deep shots, and in general, stops being so fucking predictable, our offensive problems will continue against better, more physical defenses.

Until Morris commits (or McVay MAKES him commit) to playing to his players strengths, stops the pathetic soft zone/off coverage shit, stops trying to put Rapp in coverage instead of the box, stops trying to get cute with Jalen Ramsey instead of just letting him take on (and out) the opponents best WR, and stops trying to turn us into some hybrid 4-3, our defense will continue to struggle against better offenses.

There is no question that the talent is there on this team. I'll put our talent up against any other team in the league. The question is whether or not the coaching is there to maximize the talent.

I like moving Ramsey around.
But... when your D is getting the shit beat out of it by another team's number one??? Yeah, maybe shut that guy down.

Yep, it's been a really bad couple of weeks. No one can deny that. And changes need to be made during this bye to stop this funk they've been in the first quarter for really the whole season. They've started slow and terrible almost every game and usually climb out of it and play great the rest of it but these last two games have been a different monster. There is accountability to be had and plenty of time to have it but for now all they can do is try and fix it. They've got 7 games to save the season and they've got the star power to do it. Going to cheer them on every game as hard as I did week 1.

All of Tampa Bay's losses did not follow a similar pattern, which has been going on for several YEARS. Not at all comparable. Plus, they had Tom Brady.

Still lots of football left. We could easily make a huge run. I just do not believe we will because I do not think McVay will adjust. He hasn't since 2018. At this point, I'll continue to expect the same mistakes. I hope one day I am proven wrong. It will be a moment of great happiness. And shock lol.

Brady did have a hell of a time adjusting to Arians' offense so it's a fair point. We still have a chance for a fairy tale ending but I'm just no longer feeling it. Still gonna root and all that just gonna take the disappointment now lol.

Except we've seen this team pull the same mistakes for the last 3 years. This is nothing new. It's literally the definition of insanity. Repeating the same thing over and over, expecting a different result. Not comparable with Tampa at all.

I think TB said it, it's not that leaning the new offense is super difficult, it's forgetting your older offense that's the hardest.

Regular season records, last 3 times our Rams made it to the SB:

1999, 13-3, with losses by only 3, 4, and 7 points.

2001, 14-2, with losses by only 3 and 7 points.

2018, 13-3, with losses by 10, 9, and 7 points.

My takeaway: when our Rams are truly legit SB contenders, they have a great reg season record and NEVER get blown out.

Our 3 losses so far in 2021 are by 17, 12, and 21 points. And we all know that the losses to AZ and TEN were more lopsided than the final scores indicated.

Sports are unpredictable and I'll wear my homer glasses to the end. But so far the pattern of this 2021 team doesn't compare to the great rides of 1999, 2001, or 2018.
