Good interview. He loves Goff and thinks he's the real deal and a future elite QB.

Gonna miss Aqib and I think the Rams will too. Great dude to have in the locker room, tough-minded SOB.

Do I still stubbornly cling to the hope that the Rams *could* pull off a miracle and win it all this year?

Yeah, maybe.

Does a part of me wonder if Talib *could* have recaptured his form and been a key part of our playoff run?

Yeah, maybe.

I love Talib. Definitely miss him and hated the trade, but understand why it was done.

I would like to take this moment to remind everyone of the comments made by some fans and heads who were questioning Talibs character/personality and fit with our organization.
Well, his personality helped us get to a Super Bowl and I will always be a grateful fan of Aqib Talib. He is one of the good guys.

The more I hear him speak the more I truly like him as a person and in every interview he has done he still speaks about the Rams in the present tense as if he is still a part of the team which indicates just what type of person he is and how loyal. He may be back with the Rams in a smaller roll you never know. He seems to really love his mates the coaches and the organization.

I'm still mad he's gone, you can tell he's a great locker room presence. I'll love this guy forever.

Last year’s defense was drastically different with and without Talib and his return helped get them to the super bowl. This year, whether it’s age or injury, it doesn’t seem he’s playing on the same level. That, and the development of the young guys makes it attractive to try to save the money he was making.
Unfortunate deal, you want guys like him in the locker room.

Interestingly during the interview he still used the term we in the present tense when speaking about the Rams as if he was still apart of the team. I like Talib and think the Rams will miss his vet presence some but they must have thought he was in decline for them to IR him for the ribs instead of letting him sit for three-four weeks.

The secondary in particular struggled mightily in week 4 especially against Tampa and I think that was a watershed moment precipitating the changes at CB in the secondary.

The crappy thing is that a lot of people liked Goff til he got paid, now it’s like he’ll never live up to that contract. It doesn’t seem to be about his ability to lead the team effectively, it’s about the contract. But I guess the good news is that Mahomes is coming up and Dak is also.
Clearly the Rams value continuity and considering McVay’s not going anywhere they wanted to lock in the relationship between qb and coach, which is smart. Brady and Brees and Manning all had years in the same system which can do nothing but help a qb. Everyone is paying their qb crazy money, the Rams just did it long term.

Well said and well informed. I never really thought about it these terms. Continuity is huge. I remember Bradford went through what seemed like a new O Coordinator every year and I remember thinking then how much better things might have been for him if he had consistency at the OC position.

Man it's nice to see how players hate to be traded AWAY from the Rams.

When they are though... they have nothing but glowing positive things to say about McSlay and their teammates. That comes across extra real from Leeb... cause he won't hold back, there's no bullshit coming out of his mouth.

Talib's saying what we're all thinking. He sees it from a first hand point of view. He knows Jared Goff is a good quarterback. We also know it takes eleven guys to make it work. Hopefully those eleven guys get it together before its too late.
