That was shortly after 9/11. The country needed a feel good story. What better than a heavy underdog named The Patriots? Between that and the tapes something was amiss.

I am not a conspiracy guy, but I do think the refs/league got caught up in the whole 9/11 & patriots angle of that game.

They were gonna let EVERYTHING go. They were worried about a Blowout Super Bowl so they let New England get away with murder. League also didnt want Georgia, who they hated, authoring a Dynasty. The Patriots definitely knew our plays from the Friday walk through Im convinced.

In America, Everyone was pulling for the Patriots. Only true diehard Rams fans were pulling for Martz
and company.
Patriotism was at a fever pitch , and this game was huge. The Patriots vs Bin Laden and the Rams.
I would not be surprised if the CIA had copies of Martz's playbook. With all the down and distance
play likes and so forth.

I wonder what date or source is used on these Super Bowl favorites.

I'm almost sure I read somewhere that the Packers became the favorites last year after that Micah Parsons trade.

I hope everyone realizes it's tough to stay healthy and other teams are going to be gunning for us every game. We won't go unbeaten and we might not Even make the superbowl. Just saying. Enjoy the ride but be realistic about it. Go rams.

There's plenty of stuff that the Rams have done that no other team has accomplished. For example, GSOT score more than 500 points 3 straight seasons in a 16 game season. I believe in those years the Rams went 6-0 3 seasons straight. And if I understand some of the nay sayers, a lot of teams "created" a super team by signing a bunch of "star" players. The Rams were a blown 2 point conversion call or one less muffed punt away from knocking the shit hawks out of the playoffs. So the team was super bowl worthy already. Then they upgraded the secondary, added MG and that was likely enough for AD's fire to be rekindled. :)

Rams need to put more distance between themselves and their opponents so that a bad call (or 2) or bad play doesn’t derail a win.

Agreed, but beating a top notch opponent by 21 points isn't that easy. And in the playoffs or in a SB, the luxury of that margin is rare.

And frankly, there should not be so many bad calls with slow motion and replay. But here we are
