Could be fashion-wear, a particular dance, music you were into, whatever.

Man up.

I'm sad to say that in high school, I actually wore parachute pants. I have a picture somewhere in the recesses of my attic and if I find it, I'll post it. I wish someone would have told me back then that I looked like a douche. Or at least punched me in the face or something. lol.

I don't know if I really ever took part in a fad... Mostly because my parents were cheap and didn't really buy me things when I asked for them.

I was pretty bad with fashion. Even now I just let my girlfriend pick things out. For years I was told I dressed like a dad.. Until finally I changed my wardrobe.. Which I didn't do much better (looking back)... I had the khaki shorts (dickies) belt buckle, black or white shirts, and tube socks. I also did the pick shirts every so often.

I had a dark pink shirt with khaki shorts and tube socks with the pink ring around it... And I used to think I was so damn cool..... Looking back I was a fucking dork.

I have always been a bit trendy, and not ashamed of it. It comes with being a city boy I guess. I never did the parachute pants though.

I did do the two polo shirt thing with the collars popped a few times. I'm glad nobody got pics of it.

I also did the tight slicked back hairdo ala Pat Riley with the Lakers. However I think I kinda sorta maybe pulled it off. When I see pics I always think....."man that took a lot of gel to do" hahaha.

Also for one summer I did the Don Johnson and wore dress shoes with no socks and a day or two of stubble when I was going out.

I'd bet money right now that Selassie had one of those Micheal Jackson jackets with the zippers all over it.

I wore my hair "feathered" and later had a mullet. That feathered look still makes me laugh when I see old pictures. I even grew a rat-tail pony tail once... that's how a lured the ladies...

I had a lot of hand-me-downs growing up... so I didn't do much fashion-wise to be embarrassed of since I wasn't buying anything trendy.

For me it was probably the Starter jacket craze. I wanted a jacket sooo bad that when I was finally able to get one, it didnt even matter what team it supported. I ended up having to choose between the Dallas Cowboys and the Pittsburg Steelers. They were sold out of everything else. Ended up with a steelers jacket  :nono:

Members Only jacket with sleeves at 3/4, nut hugging designer jeans (could be why I never had kids !!), and untied sneakers with like 3 different color laces intricately woven together. But no pictures to prove it so it could all be a lie....... but then again, who would lie about something like that !!

I used to wear Sundeck board shorts. I don't know if I'd call it stupid, but I wore them in places like San Antonio were people had no idea what surfing was even about.

They were not the most comfortable shorts (tight and absolutely no stretch at all to the material). The legs really weren't long enough either.

They came in many colors but all of them had the rainbow that went all the way over the ass. That was their trademark. I think about having that rainbow across my ass on a pair of shorts now and I think... That would send the gayest fucking message of all these days.

I found a video clip showing a pair in case you missed out when you were younger...

I also used to wear those shirts that you could see through. Fish net is not the correct word, but I'm sure you know what I'm talking about. The half shirts and jerseys that showed your entire stomach were also a mainstay for me.... some were even made out of that see through shit I just mentioned.

Miami Vice all the way...I was in the Air Force stationed in Dayton, OH (WPAFB) and had every color light blazer you could think of...One of my friends at that time was a fine gentleman with the sir name of Tabbone and you guessed it, I was the only one who could call him "Tubbs." Egad...My hair was shorter than Don Johnson, but being my hair is light brown I even added some lemon juice to make it lighter and went with blue contacts to change my eye color...WTH?

You know, peroxide worked a little better.

Or so I'm told.

Y'mean like this? Yeah - that's me in my ultra cool teal, shiny crushed corduroy blazer with the white slacks. And of course the misses with her totally 80s hair, gawdy choker, and satin outfit. My wife made these for us as our after wedding outfits. They were oh so hip back then. Right? :7up:

The first suit I ever bought (1979) was a leisure suit, tan with a dark brown shirt that had no top button. You know, to show how much chest hair I didn't have. I think I wore it twice.

Remember Jordache jeans?

I know we have some good stories about Jordache.
