I've seen many people seem to watch Game of Thrones. count me in with that group (couldn't believe the massacre this week) but I think it's time to talk about the biggest waste of a franchise I've ever seen.

Spartacus was the coolest damn show I had ever seen during season one. The Andy got sick and they gave us some filler season, then they lay this new kid on us as Spatacus after Andy died. It just ruined the whole damn thing for me. You see, to me, Andy Whitmore played that role absolutely perfect. I just could not get comfortable with the new kid. Always called him "the guy playing Spatacus"

Anyway just wondering how y'all handled the change. BTW I love how it ended. People I wanted to live, lived. All but the guy who looked like Shawn michaels.(can't remember his name)

Yeah, that's Biggame's show right there.

I tried to watch it, but it screamed cheezy to me for some reason. The slo-mo blood spatters and whatnot kinda looked like a rip-off of 300 too. I dunno. I could maybe give it another chance, but now I don't even know where to start.

Season 1 episode 1 is a good place. It's supposed to come off in the 300 style.

Isn't there more than one Spartacus though? I thought I saw different series names or something.

Yeah - I watched a few episodes of it when I had free movie channels for a bit... maybe not enough for me to get into it - as an example, it took me 'til season 2 to get into Sopranos. Spartacus just seemed that it was trying too hard. I don't even recall what season it was when I was watching it.

Yes, the original actor for Spartacus (Andy Whitfield) died. He had lymphoma. Between that they did kind of a background story for supporting characters. Then they came back with the new guy. I wasn't a fan but I still loved it.

Check my SIG man...Spartacus is my favorite show of all time. It was great! So different and so unique! All the actors involved where iconic IMO. The show deserved many awards.

RIP Andy Whitfield! The True Champion!

Its more realistic and historical than 300...lol who all had fake CGI bodies smh... But the directors and creator (Steven Deknight) of Spartacus liked to add a bit of comic style in the fights hence what your grievances are..But it s cool its not for everyone.

Yea was not a fan of Liam as Spartacus to start, but I admit he did get better in the final season War Of the Damned and did grow on me. I just needed to get over the fact that NO ONE could replace Andy, he was one of a kind. I often turned my hating on Liam because of sorrow for what happened to Andy, but now I know that wasn't fair of me. All and all after a rocky start in season 2, I think overall Liam was a fine Spartacus...No Andy, but did fair.

I loved season one, but haven't watched after that. Andy's death kinda ruined it. I'm about ready to watch again though. Where can I find it now?

I know Netflix or Hulu. The in between seasons make you closer to the supporting cast. Once Liam came, I looked at him as a supporter. Agron became my main guy, enjoyed his whole character. Though I was thrown off that he bedded down with such a little man lol. But to each his own and as history tells us, it was all but common place then.

Spartacus- Blood and Sand, (season 1) was awesome.
The 2nd season, Spartacus- Gods of the Arena was a prequel series, and quite honestly was almost as good, even though the character Spartacus wasnt even in it

I think its definately worth watching both seasons. In that order

Season 3 was ok, but like others have said, hard to watch because of Andy's death. IMO, they should have stopped there.

Season 4 was awful, basically 12 episodes of waiting for how they were going to finish it off.

No doubt, watching 1 and 2 is worth the time.
