Tony Softli and Michael Young on OTA’s from Pro Football Sunday [hil](Starts at 11:30)[/hil]

DEFENSE

** Brockers is a monster….bigger, stronger….learning how to be a pro.

** Players are reacting, not thinking….really moving to the ball…a result of being in the same scheme for the 2nd year.

** Dunbar and J Lau flying around. OLB’s were lining up right/left, not weak/strong.

** Jenkins looks smooth in his backpedal, change of direction….working on punt returns.

** Tru Johnson working some at safety….showing versatility.

** Hayes, TJ McDonald and Brandon McGee looking good. Rookie CB Robert Steeples had a 2 good play in 7 on 7 that stood out …forcing the QB to make a perfert throw by using the sideline as the 12th defender. I like where the defense is.

OFFENSE

** Sam getting his timing, anticipation down with the WR’s…had a few miscues throwing the ball, but hit both Cook and Quick for some big plays. Friday had the most deep balls either had seen at a Rams practice in years. Really stressing the vertical offense….Givens with 2 deep hookups…once Austin/Bailey get involved explosive plays will be more common.

** WR’s getting separation….finally…Cook really doing it…killer post-corner routes.

** O-line looks solid, but hard to evaluate without pads.

** Ganaway showing nice burst and acceleration…plant and cut and go…something not seen from him last year. Pead –you can see his change of direction. Stacy will need to seen in pads….same body type as Stump Mitchell…favorite plays- power runs.

Rams are getting better…much improved….striving for a Super Bowl….not playing for 8-8.

Good listen. A nice positive vibe with this team.

Looking forward to see how the various pass rushers are used this year. Was a big fan of the Hayes resigning.

This plus Chris Williams might be the under-the-radar moves that have big impact on 2013.

I think Cudjo is an underrated player as well. He plays with a mean streak. Looking forward to see these guys continued development under Mike Waufle. Lets not forget Sims either.
