I am at the age where I look for birthday deals online for a birthday meal (sad). I am blessed that I am married and actually enjoy being with her now and for the last 20 years. My daughter and her family care about us, even though they are far away in a country by the Black Sea. I am 54 years old today, the day after I taught my first college class. My life isn't bad, but the end is near.
Dad died at 67 years
Grandpa died at 65 years
G-Grandpa died at 24 years
GG-Grandpa died at 64 years
GGG-Grandpa died at 48 years
GGGG-Grandpa died at 67 years

My Mom is still alive at 78 years, and her Mom lived to be 93 years. I guess it depends on which side I inherit the right genes for long life, or short life. I remember when it seemed that I would live forever, now me and Dave are worried about Senior deals at Long John Silvers..lol

Thanks for sharing @LoyalRam !
My dad (a Rams fan) would have been 85 tomorrow. May you enjoy many more healthy years, and live long enough to see a few Super Bowl titles!!

PS: you're only a bit more than a year older than me.

I'm 52 and keep telling the wife she only has about 10-15 good years left with me.

She asked me " when do they start?"

Anyway....Happy Birthday @LoyalRam

Happy Birthday, @LoyalRam

What did u mean by this? You’re teaching, now?
Yeah, sorta....My University is paying for my Masters Degree tuition, plus a set amount every month. I was called upon to teach a class, which is part of it...lol

HAPPY BIRTHDAY LOYALRAM
I'm turning 46 Monday
Only so much more time to see my Rams hoist another 4 Super Bowl trophies.
That's my #1 concern

As i get older I think i am getting somewhat wiser. And to me I think that means enjoying every moment with my wife.
My entire life has been goal oriented.
I look back when i was 17 driving to a gig going 80 mph up I-5 with my knees on the steering wheel cause my hands weren't available cause they were sparking up the bong. I mean, at that time i thought the greatest thing in the world would be to rock out a packed gig with everyone chanting for more - well that actually happened just a year later at 18 at the Alligator Lounge in Santa Monica. That was all in the early-90's. My next goal was to get into the best design school, etc, etc.... And since then every accomplished goal never brought me total fulfillment. It's just all so procedural and not so romantic or dreamy. All accomplishing a goal has meant to me is more work. Which I appreciate, but it's not what makes me happy.
So i've started - for the first time in my life, to slow the F down and at least try to enjoy life. And I realize it has to do with being 100% there for my wife. And enjoying the time we have together. Cause I don't know how I will survive without her, and I don't want to be that guy who doesn't ever figure that out until it's too late
