Just like Bortles did, does this guy come home to resurect his career? I assume the same cheap deal where the Dolphins pay the majority of his base pay?

Of course the Dolphins will try to trade him, but his base pay might make that tough.

Just a prediction but Rosen gets traded by the start of next year again. It's a shame he went from a team incapable of coaching him to traded to a team tanking for a future QB. I'd have liked to see him with a competent coaching staff that wanted him.

As he normally does Fitzpatrick will flameout during the season and Rosen will be their starter. The Fins continue to be inept in their player handling. It's why there has been a net drain in talent from that team. Players like Kiko Alonso want out and have openly said as much.

Alonso is a good ILB who keeps getting played out of position at OLB. He is a good MIKE LB. His age and injury history will keep interest in him low. But the Fins play him outside and wonder why he isn't productive.

Alonso is a perfect example of the importance of positional fit. It's every bit as important as scheme fit.

I think what Rosen is experiencing is gonna be good for him. Dude let all that "Chosen Rosen" nonsense get to his head, it's not a bad thing to have the trade deflate his head then have Fitz knock him down another peg.

Re: his potential availability he isn't a big cap hit and comes with some good team control so him as a backup QB is fine for the Dolphins. That's assuming Fitz can hold onto the job lol. Either way I'd be surprised to see him become available barring him acting like an asshat in team meetings or whatever.

Really odd move... They sure don’t appear to be setting him up for success, so why bother?

Unless his first impressions were that bad already... and they decided to punt the QB strategy to the draft.

Alonso traded to the 'Aints. has two years remaining on contract. Saints get lucky. He does have injury history and questionable dirty play.

Fitz will falter at some point. If the Fins were going to tank why trade for Rosen?
Rosen deserves a chance to start in a better place. He as about 2M and 2.8M coming after this year. Relatively cheap for someone of his ability.

And just questionable play. What is this his 4th or 5th team in the last 5 years?

Rosen thinks pretty highly of himself. Not sure he's fit to be a Ram. jmo

He does? Interviews I've seen of him he seems a pretty level headed kid.

IIRC he had a reputation for thinking highly of himself in college. But when he was traded this offseason he behaved very classy, hung around for his teammates' charity game even though nobody would have blamed him for not showing. Sometime a little adversity helps kids grow up fast.

Would not surprise me if he were to settle in at some point as the Dolphins' signal caller and give them someone to build around. Fitz is too old. Rosen has the ability to be a franchise QB if he wants it enough IMO.

And the Dolphins have an insane amount of picks in the next two drafts btw. So if this regime has their heads on right, and if the Dolphins crappy front office doesn't squander them, they might be in business in a year or two.

My feeling as well. Why would Dolphins make a run at a QB in the draft when Rosen can be that guy while those picks can be used to build a great team?
