Just for fun, of course.

Well, the term is subjective, certainly.

Here's my loose definition for the purposes of this thread.

A "steal" is a player that never should have been there at the Ram's pick but we got him anyway. Blind luck, really.
OR a player that was found in UDFA.
OR a FA acquired that has vastly exceeded expectations after becoming a Ram.
OR a player acquired via trade that has greatly exceeded his projected production while as a Ram over his previous production with his former team.

AND the acquired player must be a significant contributor since becoming a Ram. No back benchers allowed, iow.

That said, here is my list and in no particular order...

Keenum
Gurley
Benny Cunningham
Barnes
Wichmann
Hayes
Donald
Easley
Quinn
Ogletree
Barron
TruJo
Gaines
Troy Hill
Hekker
Zuerlein
McQuaide

When you think about it, all these guys fit one, or more, of the above definitions. And where would we be without them?

Seems like a lot, at least to me.

I hope that soon the following will be worthy of addition to the above list:

Spruce
Higbee
Cooper

But so far, they've shown only tantalizing potential, huh?

Kudos to Snead, btw. All but Quinn of the above were acquired on his watch, I believe. Either Snead is one lucky sonuvagun, or he's reeeeeal good. Lol.

Did I miss a steal, btw?

I have to say the best steal is Johnny Hekker by far! Dude is just a beast at what he does. How many times this season has the offseason laid flat on their face and he pins the other team back in their 20?

Plus he's a cool as cat! Lol yelling at him at the AZ game in Phoenix a few years back about his -6 yard punt in college and he was cool as shit! Lol was laughing and enjoying us having a good time.

It's funny. Since Snisher took over the drafts for the Rams, I've always felt like they were going to take their guy no matter what the draftniks were saying. That has resulted in some great picks, like the ones you have listed above, and it has resulted in some real head-scratchers.

At the exact opposite side of the spectrum is are the Minnesota Vikings. I swear their GM drafts off of internet mock draft lists. If there is a consensus value guy available when they pick, especially in the early rounds, you can pretty much guess the Vikings will take him.

I'm not saying one way is better than the other. It's just been interesting to watch it play out year after year. It also leaves the Rams more open to ridicule from the NFL media. The draft talking heads are slower to criticize picks that they touted in the first place, since it means admitting they were wrong as well.

Go to 4:35 and check Hekker coming out of the tunnel.

I love this guy!

Lamarcus Joyner is a great steal. Guy is playing with a broken toe still. LJ is a gamer.

Way too generous with the "steal" label. Gurley was a top 10 pick, and some of those guys are average at best.

Longacre could turn into one.
Westbrooks is solid.
Barnes?
Undrafted and is a solid starting C.
That is a steal.
