The NFC playoff race is going to be incredibly tight as the season winds down. After today, Carolina is going to be at 9 wins, Atlanta at 8, and Detroit and Dallas can reach 7 each. You have to figure Eagles and Vikings will be 2 of the 6 spots, so that leaves 4 playoff remaining. Carolina's schedule is fairly easy going on in - Packers, Bucs, and Falcons - probably 2 wins at least, so that's 11-5. Falcons have to play Saints and Panthers, so maybe 1-2 more wins, so say 10-6. Saints have Jets, Bucs, Falcons, so maybe 2 wins, so also 11-5. The Rams have a tough remaining schedule, but 2 wins ought to be a wild card berth at least, in my thinking, maybe the division if one of those is over Seahawks and/or Seahawks drop a game to Jacksonville or Dallas. If division goes to Seattle, we'll be competing with two of the NFS South's teams for a wild card berth.
Worse case scenario, we go 1-3 and miss the playoffs at 10-6. Hate to even think that - actually still in shock a little we're talking playoffs again after what seems like an infinity.
Cool that the Rams control their own destiny.
I know it's one game at a time, but how do my ROD brethren see it going?
