Does he get another camp to prove himself or have you seen enough?

The man pretty much played at both ends of the spectrum.
Either he would make a spectacular play or he would get burned.
Can we keep a guy that we can't depend on overall even though he looked like an All-Pro for one game?
Should he even take up a roster spot or should we just pick up somebody's late veteran cut?
Questions.....

Like him as zone coverage depth and I don’t see anyone paying him starter $$.

Are talking about re-signing him after the season? I believe he's still on the roster. They didn't pick up his 5th year option so he'll be a free agent after this year. I supposed they'll give him this year to see if he lives up to the first round expectations. His cap hit is 2.8 mil. Dead cap is the same. So no reason to cut him at this point.

You can usually find corners that can play just about anywhere in the draft. Unless they are true impact players I avoid paying the secondary, particularly depth.

Teams have a 5th year option on 1st Round picks. Forbes was a 1st Round pick in 2023.

The Rams declined the 5th year option on Forbes. That 5th year would be 2027.

2026 is Forbes' 4th year. He is under contract with the Rams for 2026.
In fact, his $2.85M salary in 2026 is guaranteed. Rookie contracts are fully guaranteed.
Even if the Rams cut Forbes this year, he would count against their cap for $2.85M.

Which is why keeping him one more year is a no brainer. He's shown flashes early in the season but regressed later. If they can unlock that potential they might have a good depth piece. If not, he won't be back.

He is cheap for maybe the first guy off the bench.

Glad they didn't take the 5th year option on him. Let him prove himself for a full season. He was good for parts of last year but he was bad when we needed him to be good down the stretch.
