I said in the Rams/Lions thread to kick the field goal, but I can see the argument for both sides.
A) you kick the field goal, take the sure lead, and get ball to start the second half.
B) you go for the touchdown, and risk the points. If you get it, you're up a TD and get the ball to start the following half. If you don't, you still get the ball to start the second half.
What hurt was not getting the touchdown then punting on the opening drive. *You can't always assume that you're going to get back into field goal range every drive.* And with the Lions defense coming out of half with having made adjustments, you have to take the points and the lead when you have the chance.
I understand the decision though. I like the aggressiveness, not the play call.
