Game Day Thread

The GDT is a live thread tradition here at ROD.

While we all get fired up watching the game, please remember our core principles; we always show respect for our team and each other.

Despite the emotional highs and lows watching a game, we will moderate this thread with that in mind, however please refrain from name calling. This applies to players, the Rams organization, and each other.

This is the core rule of the GDT. Moderators are tasked to issue thread bans, at a minimum, to maintain this standard.

This is our team. Win or lose. Good days and bad. We are here for FUN, not to be dragged down.

A more loosely moderated atmosphere can be found in the chat room.

Go Rams!

Poor Jimmy. This is basically an audition for him. And he's gotta drop back with backups protecting him from 1st string pass rushers. Probably motivated pass rushers. You know they're licking their chops knowing who's blocking. And he's gotta throw to backups if he has time. Not a good game for him to try and look good to prospective teams.

I think the Rams will try to lean heavily on Blake Corum and the run game with an occasional play action pass. If Garoppolo gets into his game manager rhythm, he can win games.

This is going to be the Jimmy G showcase. Hopefully we will find suitors for a trade and get some picks.

Geno has $4 million worth of insentives on the line. He only has to throw for just under 200 yards for $2 mil to kick in. More importantly, he needs just under 70% completions for $2 mil more, so it’s odds on he will be taking soft throws underneath all day.

I imagine McVay and Shula will be drawing up a game plan on D that should give us every chance to secure the 3rd seed

Big question will the OL be able to create some holes for Corum and protect Garoppolo. Also I expect to see some jet sweeps with Whittington and Smith too. Keep an eye on RB Cody Schrader, McVay called him out by name so I expect Schrader to get some opportunities because he did not call out Ronnie Rivers.

You forgot the other 2 million if the Hawks reach 10 wins.

Calling @Memento Calling @Memento Missouri RB Cody Schrader, lets see what he has today? You talked him up last year after their bowl victory, Niners tried to sneak him on their practice squad, but the Rams claimed him and kept him on the active roster all year long. Hopefully today, we see why.

Don't you want the KU perspective on that Jayhawk wannabee?

No way.

I want Garapolo to be the Rams primary backup again next year. He’s a great option as a backup QB for this offense.
I know he can play but right now as long as we have Stafford, Jimmy G will never see the field. Today is an exception and we finally get to showcase him and re-ignite his QB career.

Interested to see if McVay runs a different passing attack today that suits Jimmy G’s strengths.
