It’s always refreshing and re-energizing to hear this guy talk. Needed to hear from him since the mass exodus. We’re so fortunate to have him.

Coach sure seems relaxed and happy and ready to get to work.

I truly think we are in for another 5-12 type of rough year for boy wonder.

I wouldn’t want any other coach.

I hope it doesn’t break him.

I think he's trying to give his audience a seizure with those contrasting stripes.
Might also be trying to distract viewers and listeners. He sounds upbeat and positive (and that’s good) but he may realize that this is going to be a rough season.

It’s almost as if the fan expectations to lead the league in every statistical category including the best roster and go to the Super Bowl every year has been lifted.

I’d be invigorated too. I’m invigorated for this season as a fan. It’s been really nice winning all these games and a title since he’s been here. When he’s gone I’ll start to get nervous and skeptical.

Sometimes I wonder what he really thinks about some players. Actually, I wonder all the time.

He always gives a positive spin. I guess being positive is better than negative for a head coach. He is going to need that positively this year.

Maybe he could come on to ROD and give us a pep talk. I think we need it.

It’s exactly what he said last year and every other year, with one small [blue font] change - we have lost over half our starters and didn’t sign anyone from another team yet.

We are gambling but it could be smart. As soon as the draft has finished, some veteran players, including starters will be released - adding to plenty of remaining quality FAs (OK, not priority FAs)

For example, are they hoping OBJ will hold out from signing until then?

We will be a premium destination and in a strong position to sign some of the better ones if we do as likely and trade Robinson during or shortly after the draft

I’m pretty excited to see further growth from McVay, he’s already proven that he can elevate a talented roster to a Super Bowl winner; now it’s a good opportunity for him to uplift a decimated one into playoff respectability

Yeah I’m hoping that’s the way he views it. He understands it’s a different team than the last couple of years where it was SB or bust basically. That seemed to wear on him. So hopefully he’s come to terms with the transition and is excited, rejuvenated about the prospects of a younger team with less expectations. Thus enabling him to remain sane and keep him as the Rams coach for many more years.

I agree. The problem is that Detroit is in year 3 of their rebuild and, although they look pretty good on paper, you never know how the season will go. We can only hope McSnead knows what they are doing.

Can I ask a question? There have been many posts in the past about the Rams NOT trading of cutting star players because of the dead cap hit, but the Rams did it anyway. The same thing happened this year. My question is.... wouldn't the Rams have been better off, salary-cap wise, to keep some of the expensive players for another year and let the cap hit go down after that? Gurley and Floyd are pretty good examples. Just curious.

McVay knows he can’t aspire to have the most talented roster in the NFL in 2023.

He CAN aspire, though, to have:

The most physically fit…
The most cohesive…
The most collaborative…
The most disciplined…
and
The most unselfish…

…roster in the NFL.

If he can achieve those things, we’ll win a lot of games.

I've said this before. As long as the Rams have Snead and McVay this franchise will be a contender. They will find the guys and make it happen. They have a culture here that is unique in the NFL. It's why top free agents want to come to LA. Players will see how just a partial season in LA gave them the opportunity to resurrect Mayfield's career. Playing for McVay in this market carries a lot of weight. That isn't lost on the players in the NFL. It's most visible with the coaches, but it's also with the players.

Yeah, as long as the Rams have Snead and McVay they will be in the hunt. I would bet that between now and the end of the 2025 season this team will be in the Super Bowl again. This time Snead is going to build a team that isn't just a one year wonder. They are building the foundation for that team this year. That is what all the cap clearing is for. I don't see them signing one year rental gunslingers anymore. I think from now on any vet they bring in will be on a multiyear basis. Ramsey and Floyd were key contributors and are the way to go. No more OBJs and Millers.
