The latest social media embarrassment from a pro sports team comes courtesy of the Seattle Seahawks.

Riding high on Sunday's stunning comeback win against the Packers, the team's official Twitter account thought it would be a good idea to make a connection between football and Martin Luther King Day.

On Monday afternoon, @Seahawks tweeted and then quickly deleted the picture below with the message, "We shall overcome. #MLKDay"

Apparently the team's social media department thought trying to overcome racism is similar to overcoming a 19-7 fourth-quarter deficit in a playoff game.

Update: From @Seahawks:

Yeah all those six-figure guys in PR, didn't mean it...They didn't realize, they ...........And of course, nothing of consequence should be made of a comment like this... What damage was done ??? In other news, the sun made a big comeback this morning and won out over the moon ...Let there be light...No, I didn't mean to compare sunrise to Genesis, although I'm sure there are zillions of people who would say they are tightly intertwined...Tomorrow we'll discuss Johnny Appleseed's decision to chastise George Washington (Johnny didn't realize it was a cherry tree)...Poor form, or freedom of speech ???

Huh. First they use Lynch Mob and then they use one of the greatest men in history who stood up for basic human rights for a football message?

I have no respect for that organization. None. I fucking hate them and I hope Tom Brady makes them his bitch. I'm all in on the Patriots, I don't care what anyone says.

My brother and dad are Patriots fans so I just tell myself i'm rooting for them to see their team win a superbowl, that way I don't have to believe i'm cheering for the Patsies... Sure as shit beats a back-to-back Seahawks superbowl, god forbid they have a dynasty, could only imagine the arrogance that it would come with to add to Shermans ego.

Lose, lose for me...I guess I can only hope Sherman is out due to a severe neck strain while he was kissing his own ass...Then I guess Belicheat could get ejected before the opening kickoff for wearing one of those hideous do-it-yourself "almost a hoodie" things...

Best scenario that I can think of is the Patriots win, and I mean really trounce the Seahawks 56-0.

Of course this scenario causes the Seahawks to absolutely implode from the top down, causing a chain reaction that sends the organization in turmoil for no less than 10 ugly years.

Unfortunately for the Patriots, their victory is marred by no less then three scandals, costing them their first and second round draft picks for the next 5 years and ending Belichick's coaching tenure and sending that team, also into a downward spiral for the next 10 years.

There is a happy ending to the story; however, that entails Sherman and Brady secretly getting engaged before joining the Cardinals. Arians becomes very depressed as they both announce their marriage mid season, not because he disapproves of that sort of thing, but rather because the happily married couple disapproved of his own advances. Arians immediately trades his two star players and continues to lead the Cardinals into disarray for a decade.

Finally, the 49ers stick to their guns with Kaepernick who just continues to find ways to lose games.

The result is of course a Rams dynasty, leaving them to embarrass the NFL by winning no less than 10 super bowls in a row.

That pretty much sums up how I feel about it.

I get the feeling the Putriots are going to win this game is spectacular fashion. 30+ point margin type stuff. Not sure why I feel it, I just do. This is a statement game for those assholes, to prove they can win a SB when the opponent isn't the Giants, lolz.

My HAG hate is renewed ten fold, just when I was considering preferring that devil to win.

I hope the Hags crash and burn and I hope Wussell gets sacked 5 million times entire his entire body leaves an imprint in the turf.

That dude is as fake as fake can get and I'm coming quickly to the conclusion he "hides" his manlove for himself pretty well to fool everyone.

Dude is sickeningly self-righteous.
