I salute my Rams Brethren here who have stood by this team in the darkest of days of recent history.

Many of us here have witnessed some dark times as Rams fans and the most recent stretch/stench before McVay's arrival was the longest streak of non-winning Rams football I, as long-time fan, have ever endured.

I have been a Ram fan for 42 years (since 1976). I am not a California guy. I have lived in NC my entire life and watched my Rams from afar. When I was kid and young adult, I always relished those 4 or 5 Rams games a year broadcast on the east coast in the late seventies & 80's. The games were fun to watch because Rams were usually a good team during that time period. Since 1995 with the wonders of satellite technology I have been fortunate to watch every Ram game but one, which I missed when my son was born during emergency C-section (6 weeks premature but he is a healthy 13 year old teen now). Suffice to say I have seen a lot or Ram football.

There are many memorable seasons in that stretch but honestly there are probably more forgettable seasons. My favorite seasons were 1979, 1985, 1989, & 1999-2001 & 2017.

This team appears to have something special going much like the magic of 1999. This is a unique place in time and I hope it lasts but I don't take this team for granted. This is the type of team we as fans dream about and now we seem to have it right in front of us. With coach McVay, Goff, and the rest of the young talent on this team they might be good for while but nothing is guaranteed and I have seen many promising teams fade too quickly.

This team can go all the way but there is still a long way to go and a lot games to be played to get there. This team may fall short in the end (not knowing is what makes it fun) but I am just enjoying this team and this place in time as fan of the Los Angles Rams because I have seen the opposite side too.

A Ram since 1987 after getting into the NFL in 1986.

At that time, my friend and I used to get Touchdown and the Lindy's guide, plus watching it on TV in the UK.

There has been some rough years.
The Superbowl was indeed the highlight.
I wonder what it might have been ike to have the internet and especially social media back then.
Well, anyway, the good times are back, and social media does bring us closer to the players.
I personally love that.

Last year there were comparisons made between Faulk and Gurley.
This year the team is being compared to the Superbowl team.
I would rather not.

Those players back then were something special, especially on offence.

It's just great to have such a promising, mostly young team that have such a great team spirit.
It's McVay who impresses me most. He seems like a genuinely nice guy. He has a great football mind at such a young age. Massive responsibility with a clear vision.
He is relishing in it.

All good things come to those who wait.
Good times to be a Ram.

If you've been a Ram since 1976... my math tells me you've been a fan for much longer than 32 years.

You're much older than you think. LOL

1966 was, I believe, the first time I watched a Rams game on TV in NJ.

It was, is, and always will be about those horns.

Yup... it's been a wild roller-coaster ride for these 50+ years. They were always competitive back in the day in LA... moved to STL and things were pretty bad until!! (y)

Now, they found their magic again.

I don't know where this will lead.. but, at my age? I'm very grateful to be able to watch games like last night!

One game at a time... hopefully, it ends up with a Super Bowl win!

Thanks for the great post Noregar. I have been stewing all day about the defense's poor performance and you bring sunshine to the day.

We are about the same. I don't remember NOT being a rams fan. My dad told me I came out of the womb asking for Rams gear in 1967.

The good times have been few and far between lately. We must cherish these great teams, before long they will be gone and only a memory leaving us praying for the next great team.

GO RAMS

Get out of my head, man! LOL

Same. Fan since '76 although even in LA it wasn't easy to watch the Rams since they were blacked out half the time. So much playoff heartache...

And then being up 19-14 going into the Super Bowl against Pittsburgh only for them to score 17 unanswered...

And then that magical '99 season...being robbed in '01 (don't get me started) the decline under Bulger where you could just tell our best days were behind us and then....the darkest of days.

Well, they say it's darkest before the dawn, and it was, but my oh my! what an amazing dawn it's been.

And like you, I'm simply trying to savor every dang second of it.

I've been a fan since 1999/2000. I got to watch Proehl's catch, Bruce's game-winning touchdown, The Tackle, and the GSOT work magic.

I also went through the bad times. I watched them get cheated out of a second Super Bowl by Bellicheat, Tom Bitchy, and the rest of the Cheatriots. I saw Martz tear his own team apart with horrible draft choices (S-Jax aside, and S-Jax will always be my favorite player on the Rams because of his heart.), and questionable personnel decisions.

Then Linehan and Zygmunt came in and fucked everything up. I remember Draft Night in 2006 - my first ever draft party - and they took Tye fucking Hill instead of Haloti Ngata (whom I wanted). 2007 wasn't much better with Carriker eventually whining his way off the team and Claude fucking Terrell and his psychopathic behavior. I saw Linehan destroy what little was left of the locker room with his incompetence. Meanwhile, you have fucking Incognito taking pot shots at the fans, and football that was so bad that I'm shocked that they even won a single game.

In 2008, they fired both Linehan and Zygmunt. Haslett was the interim coach. He fucked things up yet again and got shown the door. I thought that we saw the light with Spags, Devaney, and Bradford, but they were somehow worse than Linehan. Spags and his OCD micromanaging alienated the entire past Rams. It was a mess. I can't believe that they were even close to being in playoff contention in 2010.

Then Fisher replaced Spags and Snead replaced Devaney. Fisher, to his credit, got us out of the basement...for the most part. I remember his poor choices for offensive coordinators, and the defensive coordinators weren't much better. Schottenheimer, Cignetti, Boras, they came and gone, and Fisher eventually came and gone with them.

I remember this board debated about which head coach we should have. McDaniels (a massive douche), Shanahan (a lesser douche), and some guy named Sean McVay.

So yeah, I'm savoring this team as they are.

Ladies and Gents ... wasn't that a FUN game last night?!?! I mean I was totally thrilled by it. I expected the Vikes to give the Rams all they could handle ... but ...HOT DAMN! That was a good game. Goff is a fucking STUD! Enjoy this. He is on;y going to get better. We weathered 2 good teams now, minus having some of our key guys (I am counting 2nd half of Chargers game). Two concerns the rest of the way .... edge pass rush/OLB and OL health. But if we can stay at least this healthy to our bye ... we are in damn good shape.

BTW ... i didn't read any of y'all's above posts o ... if I doubled up .. screw it!;):rolllaugh:

My story same as OP's....In Florida my whole life where the Saints were shown on tv every week...as a kid in 1976 or so, caught a saints-Rams game on tv and was hooked...every week would check to see if Saints played the rams this week, and was disappointed all but 2 weeks!.

And then Sunday Ticket comes along....

I remember checking The Sporting News every week at the grocery store for Ram news....

Man , with the internet, the kids got it good!
