@Selassie I has the S6 curve I think.

I still have my S5, it's like new but I will get the 8 when it arrives. I skipped the 6 and 7 because the upgrades weren't really compelling to me. But the 8 plus is on my radar because it's essentially a "phablet" but isn't much larger than the 8.

I wonder what they will charge at Verizon, I have been eligible for ages to upgrade and typically the high end phones are 199 with a "new plan". My brother just upgraded to the 7 and said they no longer offer that they add a monthly payment of 25 bucks on a two year contract.

Anyone know if that's true? He's gullible and I can see him falling for a sales pitch.

I've got a Samsung Note Edge. I really like the features the Edge part gives... didn't think I would, but it's like an extra small screen that I now probably couldn't live without.

I've had it for a few years now... Knock On Wood... no accidents or even a scratch on the screen. I have a very slim case on it that has protected it perfectly on several drops. Drunken drops,,, and normal drops too.

Everyone else in my house has Apple phones. I laugh at them when their shit doesn't do some of the stuff mine does... they LAUGH at me pretty much all the time. Their phones have way more features really,,, and I have a Mac and ipad so I understand. My hands just fit better on this Note. When they make another one that doesn't blow up... I may update... but I'm not getting rid of my current one unless they have a lot more to offer. Like waterproof. Otherwise... I'm keeping this phone for a very long time.

I'll be getting this. I upgrade every 2 years. Had an S6 Edge, and it worked well but it's starting to lag and the battery is spotty now.

As crazy as it sounds the Blackberry KeyOne is interesting too. Classic Blackberry keyboard with full Android OS.

How many miss those keyboards?

I think I am going to do the same thing @Angry Ram..........I still have my Galaxy5 which I got right after it came out. I've never had a compelling reason to upgrade though. The 6 and 7 weren't enough to get me..........but the offer of the freebies and the new 8's features are making it hard to say "no thanks".

I don't know if I am going to get the 8 or 8+ but I am going to Verizon tomorrow to place the order. I'm assuming I do not have to do it online to get the deal.

My brother just replaced his phone and evidently Verizon is no longer allowing you to buy the phone for $199 or $249 like they have in the past. You have a monthly fee added to your bill. It's really expensive by the time 24 months goes by. The 8 will end up costing $720 and the 8+ will be $840. I'm not down with that..........maybe I will look at other carriers. Has anyone run into this with Verizon?

To the best of my knowledge that is for early upgrade customers that are not eligible for the upgrade yet

So I won't be stuck overpaying for a phone? I don't mind dropping a couple of hundred up front but the idea of spending 30-35 a month plus the service which is already overpriced is on the edge of "no thanks".

When I upgraded to my S6 from an old iphone I was told the same, they didn't offer 2 year upgrades since we are on a family plan (ATT). Think they still had em for solo contracts though, but that was over 2 years ago now.

My first smartphone was an iphone 3g, then 4s, and now have the 6. Tend to skip generations. I'm waiting for the 8 coming in the fall, but if it's not at least equal to the new S8, might switch.
I'm not an 'apple' guy, but the nice, (to me), thing about the iphone, 'specially for us old bastards, is the continuity of the operating system and it's upgrades.
Really don't want to learn a new OS. The phones pretty much essentially do the same things - can't really go wrong with any of 'em.
Appliances I'm a huge LG fan, and all my video electronics are Samsung, so if I ever did jump, it'd be one of those two, probably Samsung.

Can you delete ALL your emails with one command on androids.
I HATE that about the IPhone.
You have to pick each one - I get a couple hundred a day.

I do. Cant type for shyte on any phone.
My company allowed us to put the Good App on our personal phone or supplied us a Blackberry, which I gladly took them up on.
Now they've replace the Blackberry with an Iphone 7 (which I hate) and the Good app was replaced by Blackberry...
