Hi Kevin, assuming you sign Jenkins and Johnson somewhere within the expected salary range you have set out, what will be the cap situation for the upcoming season?

What is a comfortable amount under the cap necessary for issues that may require using more cap money during the season?

Finally, can you discuss the potential cap situation for 2013? I know it is early and there are several bigger contracts that need to be addressed but my understanding was that we would be in very good cap shape next season.

Thanks!

As mentioned in another thread, we are about $3m under the salary cap as of Sunday and that probably won't change. That is always the contingency number we like to be at heading into August.

For 2013, in reality we are about $25-30m under the salary cap after the FA signings this past year. Most of that will be used to re-sign our own players while bringing in maybe a free agent or two. We've always planned that 2013 would be about keeping our own that philosophy won't change.
