Saints to dump Brandon Browner on March 9

Earlier this month, cornerback Brandon Browner, 31, seemed to say goodbye to New Orleans. Early next month, New Orleans will be saying goodbye to Brandon Browner.
Per a source with knowledge of the situation, the Saints will release Browner after the new league year begins on March 9.
The move will result in either a $2.6 million cap charge for 2016, or a split of $1.3 million in 2016 and 2017, if he’s designated as a post-June 1 departure.
Browner has a $750,000 roster bonus due on the third day of the league year, along with another $1.5 million in 46-man and 53-man roster bonuses, and a base salary of $2.75 million for 2016.
He signed a three-year, $15 million deal with the Saints following a season in New England, which culminated in rare back-to-back championships with different teams (Browner was a member of the 2013 Seahawks). The unsung hero of Super Bowl XLIX, Browner prevented a Seattle receiver from executing a pick on Malcolm Butler, who sealed the win with a goal-line interception.
After a short early-career stint in the NFL, Browner went to Canada for several years before landing with the Seahawks.
