SMH at Washington. You had two regular season games against Philadelphia, you have access to all-22, and yet it still wasn’t enough for you to keep the game close so you ask for an extra scouting period?

Guess they're gonna wait til the May meeting to decide on the bullshit "tush push". Hope to fuck they finally get rid of it. Aiding and abetting the runner used to be illegal, football is not supposed to look like rugby for a reason. Fuck Philly, even the Bills coach who runs it 2nd most often wants it gone.

So sometimes a RB will be pushing for a 1st down and teammates come help push the pile. Should that be illegal too?

No, it should be illegal to help a player move forward until said player is touched by an opposition player.

if you wish to separate football from rugby, then yes. However, I find it personally entertaining, my answer is no. Since the NFL is considered entertainment, then yes let’s keep the fans happy.

On a personal note, I don’t find the tush push entertaining. I find myself in a Progressive commercial becoming my parents on 3rd or 4th and short where I mumble, oh Gawd, let me guess, here comes the tush push.

I read that kickoff touchbacks will now be spotted at the 35. That should change STs a bit if true.

I hear you. Though the scenarios seem similar to me. If you're going to outlaw the tush push, outlaw any pile pushing, too.

In the McVay interview he echoed what a lot of have been saying about all the new rules. Paraphrasing - He wants them to be clear so that refs can consistently get it right.

Yes. Simple, easy to adjudicate. Used to be that way.
What's the problem?

If the NFL is serious about reducing concussions... I believe they should eliminate the tush push. Just a bunch of 300 pound guys smashing heads into one another. Also, pushing a runner forward was never allowed until recently. What happened?

Exactly. The offensive player not in the possession of the ball can block or push the tackler, but cannot push the ball carrier.

That’s how it used to be and how it should be.

Don't change the rule, just outlaw the tush push. The difference is the play doesn't start with all the lineman smashing together head first. When it happens in finishing a run, most times everyone is upright and head injuries are not as likely.

The intention of the law was not the tush push. But someone saw a way to take advantage of the new rule and skew the game.

I really hope that doesn’t happen. They’re giving away too much of the field. Two first downs and you’re looking at points already!
That’s too easy and doesn’t provide a fair opportunity for the defense to get a momentum swinging stop after a score.

Have you watched any RAMS Games ?? Get real about the rule, but WE both don’t know what the rule will be.The tush push for Philly though will work basically either way.Fir them it’s the personal.
IMO it’s a line of scrimmage thing ?That’s different from a scrum??

Mcvay probably brought on this rule because he refused to put the ball in play.

I'm sure every team will put the ball in play now.
